@stephenbishopofficial Stephen, I was 16 when On and On came out. Spent a lot of quality time laying on the floor in front of the stereo console with this 45 playing on repeat. Save It for A Rainy Day was another favorite. Thank you for the memories! And thank you for taking a minute of your time to acknowledge these two beautiful people reacting to your work.

I would definitely recommend listening to "It Might Be You", which is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and one of his best. The song is from the film "Tootsie" starring Dustin Hoffman which is a must see for your movie channel. Great reaction to a great artist!! For the Little River Band, two great songs from them are " Take It Easy On Me" from late 1981 and "Man On Your Mind" from mid 1982. Both are great songs I know you would enjoy Amber.

Very nice reaction to a beautiful song. I don’t think he’s singing about a problem that keeps happening on and on but rather is saying that even when you have a problem with your heart is broken, you just keep going on and on. That’s the thrust of all the lyrics of the song. That no matter what happens, you pick yourself up, you dust yourself off, and you go “on and on”. And Stephen Bishop is one of those famous “singer/songwriters“ of the 70s. This was his biggest hit. He’s also the (I think) the guy who is singing on the stairs in ANIMAL HOUSE and Belushi (as Bluto) grabs his guitar and smashes it to pieces. (Edit note: thanks to Sally Phillips for pointing out my error above, where I meant to say “dust yourself off”. Error made by dictation, and not proofreading. Fixed).

Stephen Bishop also sang the theme from the movie “Tootsie” called “It Might Be You”, which is another beautiful song of his you should check out. “On And On” somehow always made me feel sad and happy at the same time. Great reaction as always! Fun fact: Stephen Bishop never hit number one as an artist, but he did manage to do so as a songwriter. Always loved this one. When it came out, I also noticed that line, "so he takes a ladder, steals the stars from the sky, puts on Sinatra and starts to cry," but I'd gotten a different meaning out of it. For decades, I thought it meant that stealing the stars was him dressing up in his best to make himself feel better and confident in himself again. He puts on Sinatra's persona, his swagger and his coolness to push past it. But it doesn't work, and he starts to cry.

Amber, First things first. You want more Little River Band? You should start with their seminal 1976 hit, It's A Long Way There and follow it up with their 1978 hit Happy Anniversary. Then make your way to my favorite LRB tune of all time, Take It Easy On Me. You'll appreciate the breadth and width of their musicality. As for Stephen Bishop, he had some great hits in the late 70s like Save It For A Rainy Day, as well as It Might Be You in 1983.

Stephen Bishop a great Singer/Songwriter from the 70’s still doing it. Has written some great tracks, very easy listening!

Another example of the confessional or story telling singer which emerged in the 1970s (Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Andrew Gold, Stevie Forbert, Rupert Holmes etc etc). This is a great song and well delivered by Stephen Bishop.

Beautiful "yacht rock" number. I remember this so well from high school -- my friends and I loved this and sang it together. We especially liked the line "puts on Sinatra" and the image of looking for a ladder so you can steal the stars from the sky -- because you're sad.

I'm so glad you did this song. Just so good. He writes great songs. "Save It For a Rainy Day", "Madge", "Heart and Soul"... Definitely need to revisit Stephen Bishop another day :) Little River Band... That's a bit harder as you've done most of my favorites. "Take It Easy on Me" is good, "Man on Your Mind" was on the radio quite a bit, "Happy Anniversary" maybe?

It Might Be You by Stephen bishop is beautiful. I think you’ll love it. Also Save It for a Rainy Day. As for LRB I’m not sure what youve already reacted to. Reminiscing is my fav song. Lady is lovely. Help Is On the Way. Cool Change. Take It Easy on Me. Happy Anniversary. Night Owl. Lonesome Loser. We Two. So many great songs.

Great song and definitely his best. Other songs he has worth checking out are It Might Be You, Save It For a Rainy Day, and Everybody Needs Love. As far as other great Little River Band songs, Take It Easy On Me, Help Is On the Way, It's a Long Way There, The Other Guy, Man On Your Mind, and Happy Anniversary are all worth a listen!

My favourite Stephen Bishop song will always be his film 'tootsie' soundtrack 'it might be you'. A great classic 80s film to watch by the way. I didn't realise or appreciate what a prolific songwriter he was for the likes of Phil collins, Barbara Streisand, etc
