This has got to be one of my favorite tribute speeches of all time. The devil bit could have been disrespectful (like, unfortunately, Jack Black's Zeppelin bit), but it only underscores how hard Yo-Yo Ma practiced and dedicated his life to his music. Very tasteful and honoring.

Yo-Yo Ma made his world debut under the direction of Leonard Bernstein at age 7 for President Kennedy in 1962. That's some revolutionary history.

Very sweet by Colbert. I can still remember when the two ...really...the two...classical influences I had were Bernstein conducting Beethoven and Yoyo Ma playing Great Cello Concertos. I've sort of expanded since then. But I've followed Yoyo with everything he's done.

Wondering why Stephen Colbert did that...and then didn't wonder any more! Yo-yo Ma seems like a great guy with a real sense of humor.

English is third language 4 me, and I assure you that I can make a great tribute to Yo-Yo more than Stephen did .. that's it. 😉

Colbert stole from Jack Black.

How? Jack's tribute to Led Zeppelin was a year later.
