In a classic interview from the archives, Cathy Rankin sits down with rock frontman, Stephen Pearcy, on New Year's Eve 2017 during his concert tour to discuss his solo music and career outside of Ratt. They discuss interesting details you might not know from his life growing up....this is not your typical interview about sex, drugs and rock and roll, but a more personal conversation to get to know what drives the man behind Ratt and Roll...an interesting interview with a very unique personality, for music fans who enjoy a more personal glimpse into rock and roll's most iconic singers and players. We're excited to let you know that since this tour, Stephen is still rockin' on and doing great, and we wish him the best - please be respectful in your comments, hateful speech is not tolerated.

Ratt was my introduction to 80's 🤘🤘🤘 I was hooked when I heard Round and Round and I immediately got Out of the Cellar and I wasn't able to do much as a kid as I'm handicap with a brittle bone disease so my childhood was indoors and bedrest but I remember listening to that cassette over and over and of course I had to get tons of other bands but that album helped me through some hard times. For being handicap and my childhood was the hardest but luckily I had great music and MTV had Headbangers Ball!! Tv and video games truly helped me. 80's ruled!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Fantastic job Cathy. Very few commented on that. 90% were about how you & him looked. Impressive courage & clever ways replying to these idiotic & disrespectful comments. You Rock. You are physically beyond hot indeed, and I just love your very stylistic look & class, without overdoing it. I see it as a treat . . . Like a nice moment while dining, watching an idol from my 12th summer on Earth, being interviewed by a totally gorgeous woman, who's comfortable with herself, laid back & true to herself. Loud mouths did not comment on the way you ran the interview in a fun, clear & very professional way. Considering like you wrote, he's not the easiest. Hats off. Well done. I subscribe. @@abigailsanchez7722 he was uncomfortable in general that day, even off camera before the interview - also cameras makes people look further apart, so in interviews it isn't uncommon to sit close, especially in this instance where we had limited sound. He knew that and is a pro so it probably didn't make much difference. My guess is that he was going through a lot of personal things during this time so it may have just been a tough day for him.

Pearcy looks rough but he been through a lot of traumas in his life. So considering this, he’s good. I’m glad he’s survived. Robin Crosby didn’t and succumbed to his drug addiction. Pearcy had both his legs broken by a driver years ago and then now has had both knee replacements. That’s no joke recovering from those issues. I loved Ratt and saw them live years ago on a double bill with Aerosmith as the headliners. I actually preferred Ratt back then. They were new and sounded better to me. But Tyler and Perry have held up much better. Everyone is different so it’s understandable. Good Interview!

Cathy, I would love to see you interview Jack Russell or Aldo Nova, but I don’t know how you choose who you interview. Is there a criteria?
@CathyRankinEntertainment
@CathyRankinEntertainment Жыл бұрын
We almost did an interview Jack Russell, but unfortunately we couldn't get the logistics to work. Many of my music interviews were done in partnership with a venue in Arizona that would have regular concerts, so all the artists that came through could interview if they chose to. Unfortunately due to COVID, the venue shut down and the property was sold. However, I am working on some other projects that hopefully will enable me to get some new music interviews in 2023. Its not an easy process because you have to work with the artists Publicist or Manager, and sometimes their label, to get agreement for the interview, and then you have to work around their schedule and logistics, as well as make sure you have an appropriate place and camera setup/crew for the interview. A lot of moving parts!

The interview was spur of the moment during their sound check at an outdoor venue, so we didn't have much control over the sound. Stephen, like a lot of people I've interviewed, is much more comfortable performing on stage than talking about himself in an interview, but he was gracious with his time and was more relaxed toward the end. He had his sunglasses on because we were outdoors in Arizona, and the sun is extremely bright.

Ratt one if my favorite bands from my teenage years, but... I thought he had Parkinsons with all the jittery movements. Wouldn't want to sit him too close to Tommy Lee. The 2 of them vibrate so much they'd start a fire 🔥

You have no idea the circumstances of the interview and how challenging it was doing it last minute during a sound check, so when you conduct a professional interview of your own, where you spend days researching and formulating questions, then have to pull answers out of someone who may have a more reserved personality, then you can tell me whether I should or shouldn't be on the "payroll" - which by the way, I was not paid for this interview, it was done for the fans. When someone starts their comment with referring to a woman as "chick" I always know its going to be ignorant....

You're correct, a lot of the 80s bands I've interviewed have had their battles with addiction, health, etc...some have taken care of themselves and are going strong, others wish they had. I heard he has been sober for the last few years, but I'm sure its something he has to take day by day.

@@zencapri I'm not taking anything personally, I'm old enough to know that not everyone will like my style, personaltiy, or whatever, but when people make ignorant comments that are unnecessarily rude or mean, I call it out. I respond to both positive and negative comments. You're entitled to your opinion, but to call someone a "poser" and rip on them when you don't know them serves no purpose other than to either get attention for yourself, or just be a hater. If I was not genuine, I would DELETE all the negative comments, but I don't. I allow them, and I respond, which I'm entitled to do. But if ripping on people you don't know makes you feel good, go for it.

Geez I’ve read some comments, what is it with people thinking the way they do , it’s 2022 and Stephen is still here and still rocking and living the rock and roll lifestyle, he’s the real deal regardless of comparison to others , he does things his way and I guess the negative comments come from those that perhaps are miserable and never lived up to their vision or potential. Also she is truly just a number , you live how you live regardless of what others may think or want you to live. Stuff the negative crap , Stephen still rocks and why is that a problem for some
