This is a masterpiece by Stills. So many styles combined and it swings.

Stephen's peak was in the late 60s and early 70s. After that time the endless touring, drugs and cigarettes took their toll. His voice got shot, he was often drunk on stage or totally coked up. The final result: A lousy, awfully produced album like "Right by you"

Stephen is a rock hero. The central axis at all the huge bands he was involved (and here, is speaking a mostly Graham Nash's fan). Got to respect the man. Dark Star is one of his greatest.

He is an honorable man, great story teller! I am sure that they had the weight of the world on their shoulders at times!! still listening to the oldies brings me home. Truly a real old sole who is a lovely man! I am glad to see that he is with Judy, I love her music and she was another special artist helped to from my values and struggles as a much younger person. Both quite talented and relevant.. juts good, moral people.

The late great Michael Finnigan on keyboards and backing vocals. I think he sang some of Crosby's parts when David was a zombie on tour.

Awesome tune, Stephen has always had a sweet vocal quality, that is as sincere as this song here!! Thank you Stephen for the giant catalogue of songs and insight you have shared.

Stephen's videos like this often remind me of how hot it is under the bright lights. I'd be tempted to perform in shorts, and nothing more than a shirt (unless outdoors in cooler weather of course)

Forgive me if my fantasies might Seem a little shopworn I'm sure you've heard it all before. I wonder what's the right form Love songs written for you, It's been going down for years But to sing what's in my heart Seems more honest than the tears. I am curious, don't want to hurry us. I'm intrigued with us. Ain't this song a bust. I don't care, dark star. I met you several years ago, The times they were so strange, But I had a feeling. You looked into my eyes just once, An instant flashing by that we were stealing. Another time you felt so bad, And I wasn't any help at all as I recall. We didn't quite know what to do So we left the wanting be Still there for me and you. Dark star, I see you in the morning, Dark star, a' sleeping next to me. Dark star, let the memory of the evening Be the first thing that you think of When you open up your smile and see me, dark star. It's easy to be with you Even with the storms that rage Beneath your search for peace. We must make some time together Take the kids and find a world That's ours to keep. Now you've got me dreaming girl. It's been so long that I thought that I'd forgotten how. My heart is once again my soul. We touched, we did, you know we did, No more teasing now. Dark star, I see you in the morning, Dark star, a' sleeping next to me. Dark star, let the memory of the evening Be the first thing that you think of When you open up your smile and see me, dark star.

Don't think so. That's pretty much the group that backed up CSN on tour in 83'-84' except for the drummer and Kenny Passerelli on Bass.

let the memory of the evening Be the first thing that you think of When you open up your smile and see me Killer lines. Could anyone turn away from this? Killer lyrics. Totally pure. Totally hot. Feels like this should be sung in Spanish to match the passion.

As always, forgets the words to his song but saves it gallantly. Every show I've seen him do since '67, and that's a lot of shows.

Great song, but for whatever reason this video only come through in mono. 😒 The video with Steven Stills, David Crosby and Graham Nash doing this song is much better. Check it out.
