Great video! I remember doing that hike years ago. We had a mule deer almost run us over on the hike up, and when we reached the top, there was a mess of people up there. The observatory was open and there was a gentlemen there allowing people to view sunspots with his telescope. Awesome peak experience apart from the crowds! Can't wait to see it open back up to its former glory.

Thanks for watching Peter! That’s crazy I couldn’t imagine a deer running us off a trail what a way to go haha! Hopefully everything opens up really soon!

Great video! Me and my friend were doing the hike and meet a huge black bear on our way back to the car, experience I will never forget

Whew!!! Glad you guys made it back alive. Bears are terrifying even if they are cute 🥰
@jazzfan74912 жыл бұрын
Yikes. Did the bear run away when it saw you?
@zeon777us2 жыл бұрын
@@jazzfan7491 no, he was staring at us as we “calmly” walked past him
@jazzfan74912 жыл бұрын
@@zeon777us That's considered unusual behavior for a black bear. Usually they run! However, in that area many bears are "habituated" to humans and get their food from trash cans and other human sources in Sierra Madre. So they think of humans as animals who might supply food. Thanks for the reply!

That's awesome. Great hike but not for eUC riding. Very steep, rocky and a bit treacherous for MTB or eUC riding. Hike ON!

Very Cool to see. What is the camping scene like? Anybody camping up there?
@StephenAldaco2 жыл бұрын
Hey if I remember correctly there are def camping spots along the way! At the very top I don’t think so but half way there is
@RobbieZer02 жыл бұрын
@@StephenAldaco Awesome, I’ll definitely add this to the list then. The most I’ve hiked was first waters and manzanita ridge but I’ll definitely be trekking this after Alabama Hills. Thank You!

Hey, ugh your dog is sniffing that bush(it's called poodle dog brush and it's worse than poison oak). Now you know why your hands were itching after that.
