Manchester United are in big trouble.
Our financial situation is a mess, signings aren’t coming through the

We have a serious worry this season. We might finish worse than any of
us could ever have imagined. The season hasn’t started as hoped under
new manager Ruben Amorim, but it could get worse.
I think we might be doomed. Here’s why...

Utd fan of over 50 years. I’ve seen good,I’ve seen bad. This is by far the worst I have ever seen. We don’t go into any games now where I feel confident, none! I wouldn’t back us against anybody right now,and I haven’t done for around 2 years. We carry zero goal threat, create very little. And we can’t keep a clean sheet. The only reason we will avoid relegation this season is there are 3 teams who are worse than us. If those 3, Leicester and Ipswich are only marginally worse than us. Wolves are better than us,so are Everton. We are a million mikes off teams like Palace and Brighton, and don’t even mention the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. It breaks my heart to say it, but I fear it’s over. I fear we are witnessing the demise and downfall of a once mighty and admired club. A club with a rich history. One of the worlds leading sporting institutions. The likes of Matt Busby and Bobby Charlton will be rolling in their graves. I will always love my club….always! But right now I have no faith in it, from top to bottom. I feel sorry for Ruben Amorim because he’s clearly a top coach, but his reputation and his belief in himself must be taking a hammering right now. Thus club is toxic and has destroyed reputations if managers and players alike over the past 10 odd years. It’s become a poisoned chalice. Who right now would take on the role as manager right now? Which top players or even those with huge potential risk their careers by coming here? When an empire crumbles and finally falls it takes sometimes years to get to that stage. Cracks appear, they are not dealt with, the cracks get bigger and bigger. The foundations begging to fail until one day….total collapse. This is the culmination of 20 years of mismanagement, mistakes, failures and downright neglect. And trust me, it isn’t over yet.

Lfc fan. Damn! Don’t sugar coat it. Say what you really think. Tbf I hope for your same you’re proven wrong, but the signs aren’t good and the rebuild could take a few years at best. You’re right in that if you’re struggling to compete with the likes of Palace top four is miles away and theres nothing at the club other than history to build on. You’ll be competing for players who will probably not want to be joining a project that has no chance of challenging or competing in Europe so you’re likely only going to be able to attract cheap young prospects and hope Amorim can mould them into what he needs. We went 30 years without winning the title, but we still always remained competitive throughout and picked up major trophies along the way. Hopefully Utd can get back to where they were as the pl is better off having a strong Utd.

With respect, if our youth team setup/coaches think he’s ready and Ruben thinks he’s ready for his first cameo off the bench, then he’s ready. Greenwood was a generational talent and got drip fed into the first team perfectly, his off field baggage to one side, it was 100% the right call to sub him on against psg at 17. Who cares what the fans reckon, our youth team setup is becoming the best in England trust their judgement. Clearly they know how to produce unreal talent atm Greenwood elanga garnacho mainoo to name a few. Trust the process…it’s the one of the few things elite at United atm
@Galloglaoch
@Galloglaoch 19 сағат бұрын
@@milz97y But that's the thing mate, RUben and the coaches haven't decided he's ready for his cameo. That's why we don't see him playing with the first team. OP's message was to everyone in our fanbase who demands that he's given a chance. If the coaches haven't decided he's ready htne chances are he's NOT. More often than not coaches are wrong about a player being ready when they play him and it turns out too early, the opposite is extreamly rare. Besides can't compare him to Greenwood, Greenwood was (is?) generational. You don't get these type of players more than once every generation and we're in HIS generation still. A combined effort between us and that idiot lead to us losing this generation's product of our academy. Thankfully as you've pointed out it is still an elite academy and it has granted us a few more reasonable players with good potential (Kobe and Garnacho currently making the team better, Collyer a decent squad player atm and hopefully a few more in the coming years).

How is that worse than Glazer's who made us go totally broke and put less than a quarter in the club over 20 years? This season IS the Glazer's mistakes perviously catching up with INEOS. Fergusonn did not inherit nor manage a squad imo as bad as this one in the 1980's. The team he took over may have been threatened with relegation, but consistently finished top 4 for the many seasons prior and nearly won the title the year before. They had: Robson, Strachan, Whiteside, McGrath, and Hughes. United have not finished top four in 3 of the last 4 seasons, and bar Fernandes or maybe Amad have no true quality player.

@slashingbison2503 Look into the upcoming redevelopment of the area, they are going to make ten times more in the property game, especially when they go rogue with their dark arts. It's a small scale Olympics/World cup type situation similar to South Africa or Brazil. And the Glazers and the Man U assets are right in the centre of that, and you know they will play dirty. Also Alex Ferguson, David Beckham, and Gary Neville are all lined up at this particular trough, and are all on the verge of destroying the last remaining embers of their legacies by getting their hands dirty in these redevelopment plans. They do not have your, or Manchester's, best interests in mind. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Glazers bought Man U and have held onto the assets so long because of the attached property, and the potential for redevelopment in the area. This is their speciality, like Tescos, in bullying locales to their will, and profiting as many ways as they can. Mark my words, this redevelopment is going to get murky and dirty. I am willing to bet that the Glazers find some way to blackmail the redevelopment purse holders to pay, at least in part, even indirectly, for their new stadium.

INEOS are not interested in football at United, they are here for the real estate. Their real intentions are to make as much money from the stadium development and surrounding area. They are going to sell all the excess land to the government for redevelopment. The land will catapult in value, then there’s non club ownership of the new ground, it will be rented for use by United and all the events, concert income will not go to the club. The club will still be saddled with debt but with no assets. It’s an asset stripping exercise. The honey isn’t on the football pitch. It really couldn’t be any worse.

I figured we would land in the 40-45 points area for the season. All this talk about a new stadium is just a distraction. Ineos have yet to sustain success with any sporting venture they have had over time, and United will be no different. Buying players for a system will be another nail in this coffin, if there is room for more. Buying properly taught, intelligent, relentless footballers is the better way to go. Far too much attention on systems and not enough on effort, movement and football IQ. There is way more to what is happening than we know, and it’s frightening at best.

In regards to financials its even worse. 370mil to pay for installments on recent tranfers needs to be paid with next 2yrs. And usualy a construction like renovate or heck even rebuild will end up at +30% over scheduel budget. Another thing to consider. The club already have to pay high interest rates for debt/loans. Taking another 2bil for a Stadium will only increase that numbers. Sure naming rights can be sold. Would you like homegames at the "Snapdragon New Trafford"? The biggest and most important thing going forward would be getting debt free! And im not 100% sure SirJim would invest +1bil into it. Even if INEOS would manage to buy out the Glazers. MU are at a 50/50 tipping point that will decide the future of the club for years to come. It all comes down to the mega money in the Champions League next year. If MU are not in it; due to the the loss of revenue the club will have to shrink, sell players & go backwards- whilst the top 5 who are in it will take huge steps forwards in bolstering & further securing their positions at the top for the future. Each year the gap will get wider & wider and the mountain higher & higher to climb to get back to the top. On the flipside, if MU do find themselves in the CL next year, the job of getting back to the top just gets so much easier with all that money.

Should be ok with that. To go down with that requires all the teams below to pick up significantly more points than they have so far in less than half a season. It’s a 12 point gap to the drop zone so United need to lose 4 and the clubs behind to at least win 4 for it to even be level.

The Europa league is very winnable with no champions league clubs dropping in. I say we should focus on it.

Stei agree with 90%of your vid. I defo think playing some of the young lads might give these lads a lift in energy alone. However i think the europa league is very important. We need to win it for that champions league dough to hopefully be able to go turbo in the summer. Just my thoughts pal. Enjoy the game. Me and my lad are going. Stretford end upper. Hoping for a good win.

I think as long as we don't get into the relegation scrap I feel that should deal with it as fans to give the Boss a chance to see his ideas fully blossom. I'd rather we don't qualify for Europe to really focus on developing our squad

We have a good manager, some decent players, and some good youngsters to come up. It's the ownership that concerns me the most. I was gutted when Ineos got in. If you look at how they run their other businesses it's really worrying. They don't have enough money and Sir Jims team doesn't have enough experience in top level football in my opinion.

It’s a horrible situation but….. maybe some of the youth come through and nail down a spot which is never a bad thing

The europa league should be prioritized at this point now, rest players, play youth players in the league. Not saying United will win it, but it should be the main priority. You want him to focus on training with 1 game a week by getting knocked out of europa, when he hasn't even got wingbacks for his system or a striker. All it takes is 3/4 top quality right signings in the summer and the dynamics of the team changes drastically. Gyokeres/Cunha/ top level wingback pls Ineos give this man what he needs.

I agree with playing more kids. Not chucking them in the deep end but more minutes. It’s perfect now effectively a giant pre season. Collyer has been great. Who knew until he got thrown in v Arsenal only probably the hardest team to play. So give more kids more minutes. As you say it’s the tradition of the club what we are most famous for the babes the class of 92. Let’s do it again.

I’m struggling to understand how all the blame is being laid on the players being shit. Clearly some of it has to go to Amorim, who in my opinion hasn’t pulled up any trees so far. We brought him in because we felt the squad was underperforming. Yes I agree we need to get better players to get back to the top. But we do not need a team of superstars to beat the likes of Wolves and Palace. We have better squads than those teams. If Amorim cannot get a tune of this squad, and even bring some players through, then why should he get backed in the summer?

We don’t need 1bn on squad, we do need money spend but Amorim will work with young talent which will be cheaper and we will be able to resell players. Plus we have a great crop of u-18 players coming up.

Academies can and have saved many teams over the years. Just look at Barca right now. Or United going back many years. We have a manager that has a great track record with youth players. And a technical director with an academy background. Hope that translates into putting faith into some of these kids. Not only because “they’ll save us”. But because that’s what this club is all about.

I think we'll be going out of the fa cup tonight to be honest and we'll finish 16th in the league and if things don't improve in the summer next seasons definitely a relagation battle mark my words things will get alot worse.

Financially they gotta do what they gotta do. As long as the team doesn't get relegated, I am totally fine with wherever we end up in the league. 13? Fine. 15? Fine. 17? Okay. Do better next season.

"...this is the worst team in club history". Love Manchester United (40yr supporter) more than any man fortunate enough to don that jersey. A midfield and forward clear out, minus Bruno, Kobbie, Amad, Ugarte, Toby directed by the gaffer, would no doubt turn our results around. Rough days ahead.
