I have done thiis walk dozens of times , and when I started doing it in the 60's , the main way up was the river bed through the boulders , but the vegetation is very much heavier than then .it still is the most incredible place . thank you

That was my first choice for pitching, the grassy island behind the big rock? But ended up going for slightly more sheltered location, was quite windy. I’d love to go back in winter now

Truly beautiful country! It's very different than where I camped this weekend. I was up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains camping among the Sequoias. With the exception of the crazy chipmunks, it was very peaceful staying below these living giants.

Great videos. Thanks! If you ever visit the US I would recommend the Four Corners in the South West. Full of diverse geology and there is a sense of complete solitude and silence in some of the canyons. And there are lots of Native American ruins to discover.

I think it depends on the location and the kit required - how critical the weather may have been etc or maybe most importantly if the topic has not been covered a million and more times, that said your perspective can always be an eye opener with a different approach. Some of the best camera shots of the Hidden Valley that i have seen to date, really beautiful. Your very lucky not having a rain jacket, i have hardly known two days in a row where it has not rained in Scotland. You have to visit Knoydart, some beautiful hidden beaches in the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains. Bill.

That looked like an excellent trip but wish I hadn't watched it because now I have to go and fight myself from buying a Lofi burner. In answer to your question, I personally am not bothered watching people setup or pack up but I do like to see the setup and see the site is cleared afterwards... call me fickle. Great viewing and brilliant drone work too, it's given me a push to try more with my wee one on my next trip.

@@StephenJReid Yeh I lost my DJI 2 in Scotland on the Cape Wrath and I've had 2 replacements since. One was terrible and sent back as it had a mind of its own, Got its replacement and it decided to do its own thing and crash into a cliff. So I picked up the dji mini 3 two days ago and I'm hoping this isn't a (iphone update issue) if you know what I mean by dji to get you to upgrade??? 😁 as all were up to date on firmware etc. Looking forward to testing this weekend. Hoping the obstacle avoidance feature will help my flying! 🤣

Brilliant Stephen! I think you’re one of the only people bringing an FPV drone wild camping, can I ask, was it the Avata?

Thanks! I previously took the much bigger DJI FPV camping, but only once as it added over 2kg to my kit and it’s really bulky. Yes this was with the Avata, it and the Mini both fit into less space than the original FPV.

Didn’t see a single wild deer the entire time I was in Scotland, maybe was wrong time of year 🤷♂️

Concerning the story about the MacDonalds hiding their rustled cattle in the hidden valley......as you'll have witnessed from the trail that ascends up into the Hidden Valley from Glencoe - unless the MacDonalds had access to a Chinook helicopter - no cattle rusted or otherwise made their way up to the Hidden valley. :-)

I parked at the big carpark/lay-by just across from the valley on the road. Could barely get a space as it was very busy.
