I like watching woodworking vids on YT. Very satisfying seeing someone turn a chunk of wood into a piece of art. Yet your vids stand out, Stephen. Not only is your craftsmanship superior to most, your smooth narration and righteous choice of music make your channel worth subscribing. Keep up the great work. I'm a new fan!

Hey Stephen, I just watched your video on this large cedar bowl. You really turned a beautiful piece! I especially appreciated your monologue; it was quite educational about cedar and it’s peculiar characteristics. I’m a new wood turner, just about three months now. I've turned several of these red cedar bowls and still have lots of blanks ready to turn, you said something about it being brittle, I haven't noticed that, it turns like clay, just find lots of small cracks, and C.A. glue works good on that. I cut my blanks out the same way except I use a pick instead of a nail, but they make beautiful bowls, I only use polishing grit and bee's wax for the finish, so not to cover the cedar smell !

Beautiful piece but more than that good to see you turning again on the tube. Are you still working with smelting? I refer to your videos often as I get into resin casting. That's a lot of fun also. Weather you continue on the tube or not you have helped countless people in turning and making. I have been casting quite a bit and have been accumulating my overage resin, in cups, and am ready to turn them into bottle stoppers . I'm looking up" My way" turning bottle stoppers. I've been doing Cedar bowls and trinket boxes for about 2 years and one thing about Cedar you need to wear a dust mask because that stuff is so dusty . After 2 years of cutting Cedar I don't like the smell of it anymore. Nice bowl by the way. I did one started out with a 12 inch piece of wood a ended up with an 11 inch bowl. That was the first time I tried anything that big. It was a little scary at first.
