Saw this movie with my best friend, we were 19. We walked out and didn't speak, for there was nothing to say. We got on our bikes and just rode for an hour.

I have a brother 12 years older than me who was a biker and had the soundtrack lp. I avoided this film as I had a preconception of it being some sort of macho biker flick, which is not my thing at all. How wrong I was. I sat in silence in the dark for an hour after watching this.

Or 100 years before. It was so interesting watching Easy Rider and then watching Once Upon A Time In The West back to back. The same imagery. The same sparse dialogue. The same drifters and misfits. The Man who is crooked, and the criminals who are moral. The same reference to the best whorehouse in New Orleans. Henry Fonda and Peter Fonda.

I watched this film when I was 17 in a cinema in Birmingham UK I cannot remember who I was with but I remember it as me transfixed as this world opened up in front of me a world of music, drugs, and attitudes a million miles away from the world I inhabited. It was a truly amazing event and brings a smile to my face as I recall it. So here I sit at my kitchen table in Birmingham UK listening to the soundtrack

@@lukasx543 Quiet! Do not rush those 20 years, (today 23) let them pass slowly through your throat as if they were the best Scottish, do not expect more from tomorrow, than yourself and a stroke of luck can provide you. I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! *This is one of the all-time great songs!* And, for so many different reasons. *1985:* Porland, Ore-State Theater: We had endured a horrible (fake) Guess Who set, and a surprisingly good Steppenwolf set. It didn't look like they would do an encore. So we (& many others) started to split. Then: *THOSE 1ST CHORDS* of 'The Pusher'! Everybody spun around & rushed the stage! I think we all kinda forgot about this timeless classic. Yea, Hoyt Axton created it. But this arrangement: one sleazy chord/all flats'n sharps (real _'early-Lou-Reed'_ ) is the product of Mars Bonfire. For a guy who was never actually IN the band, he sure got 'em started. - Dave B.
