Wow, this video was such a fun one to edit... I'd say in the top 10 of the videos we've edited. It warms my heart to see how Bernardo instantly fell in love with this house. He enjoys having his morning cup of coffee on the porch. If you've been around since our Brazil days, thank you! I guess you've seen us move from Brasilia, to Portland, to travel, to the 'quarantine apartment', to the loft, then to the wallless home in the Mexican jungle, to the incredible lake home on Lake Atitlan, then to try island life (nope), then we got lucky to get accepted to live in that beautiful lake home in Maine for the winter, then packed it back up and drove back to the Pacific Northwest and now to a house that gives us what we're needing right now. I'm elated to see the Columbia River. My paternal great grandfather was half german and half Italian. He immigrated from Germany to US in early 1870s. And began work as a first mate on lumber ships traversing the west coast. In the fall of 1979 he was involved in a shipwreck and barely saved his life. He then went to work fishing the Columbia River during the winter 1879 salmon run. He did extremely well. By early summer 1880 he had made enough money that he purchased a horse with the intention of riding south to locate a climate suitable to grow grapes like his Italian Ancestors grew. On . August 23, 1880 he purchased a ranch 75 miles north of San Francisco. Which I've inherited. Please look out over the Columbia River remembering this story Hugs

I have lived many places throughout the USA 🇺🇸 over the years and have never really understood why some people don’t move around and enjoy more of what this world 🌎 has to enjoy. Life is ours to make however we choose so it’s important to ask ourselves what it is we most desire and then make it so. It’s important to ask ourselves if we’re happy where we are at and when the answer is totally, stay put. But if we’re not happy or know we could be happier elsewhere, then it’s time to move on and fill our lives with what will bring us more joy. Tiring of the U.S., I left in 2018 and have been living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 since, and I have truly loved it so much, but now I’m feeling it’s getting a bit stale and I’m ready for the next life adventure to put the bounce back into my life. So I’m now planning to do what I always considered too impossible to achieve, I’m moving to Italy 🇮🇹 …next.

Congrats on the home! That's a fantastic location! It's interesting, I think I have this in common with you guys: want to be near the city center and all it offers, but ultimately feel happiest and at home closer to nature. I keep chasing the city life but I need to embrace that I crave the peace, quiet, and tranquility of nature. For now, financial needs require me to be near the city center, and it has its benefits. But, in short time, I'd love to do what you two did and travel for a year and see if I can get a feel for "home" then find a place close enough to city life to partake, but far enough away to enjoy nature.

Wow! You two have come so far from where you were just a few years ago! And yes, you are deserving of this beautiful home! The train going by takes me back to my childhood home. We lived in a small rural town right next to a railroad track. When my siblings and I were outside and a train was coming, we would run next to the track wave and try to get the engineer to blow the train horn. Usually they were very obliging. Fun, good memory! The house is perfect, the view spectacular, and I can see you both sitting on the porch savoring many sunrises and sunsets!!! As someone suggested you need rocking chairs. A few times after you moved together to your apartment in Brasília I started watching your video. Lately I’ve been quiet but watching your videos and following your beautiful love, growing on and on.
