I love 3D gaming. It's almost as immersive as VR but much less nauseating (at least for me). It's such a shame the technology didn't become more popular. I sense VR will never become mainstream because of the motion sickness, maybe then stereoscopic gaming could see a resurgence.

I think 3D gaming is better than VR for certain titles. Mostly to spice up traditional gaming. Its a shame that support for it was dropped so quickly I could easily see the technology working well along side VR.

Nice! I was just about to write Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in the comments, and then you mention it :) The odd thing with 3D is, how long will it be supported? It might be a reason to hang on to older TVs as this is a very unique experience.

@@itsaPIXELthing Yeah they still make 3D movies on BluRay to this day! It's getting slimmer now in 2019, but I just bought about 10 new ones this eyar, and I also just literally bought Wreck it Ralph 2 in 3D, and Alita Battle Angel is coming soon in 3D on BluRay next month, so 3D is NOT dead yet. Just in the gaming dept it seemed to have died with Sniper Elite 4 on the PS4 in 2017 being the last one I can find, but the game was fantastic in 3D!

I have a 3D LG Oled TV that I hook up my Nes Classic to, I then put the TV in its simulated 3D mode, that allows you to turn any 2d image into a 3d one, and those old 8-bit games look awesome in 3D.

Great video, Pedro! I really am a 3D enthusiast too. The glasses can bother my nose sometimes and the effect isn't so great in some games, but i really dig to use 3D if i can. Motorstorm Apocalypse is one of the games with the best 3D effect in my opinion. The only downside for 3D in consoles is the resolution downgrade in some titles. GT5 looks really awful in 3D and some games suffers from stuttering and drops in framerate. I suggest you to try some PC games if you have a NVIDIA video card. DiRT Showdown is amazing in 3D, i recommend! Cheers!

Oi, Alan! :) Motorstorm Apocalypse is, indeed, an awesome 3D experience! Love it! :) And GT5 is really awful. The best experience with this one is using the cockpit camera. As said, I noticed some drops in framerate with Sonic Generations, but it didn't stop it from being a truly awesome experience as well! :) Can I use the Nvidia 3D feature with a monitor that isn't 3D ready? I have a regular 3D projector (active 3D) and the 3D works just fine. You will need a special Nvidia 3D driver (that is actually paid, but you can try for 14 days for free - it's an official driver from Nvidia), and it will enable 3D on all the GTX line. Take a look and try the trial version to check if you like it.

Motorstorm Apocalypse in 3D was indeed great, but I think that Motorstorm 3D Rift was a bit better in 3D, and you cant forget Ridge Racer 7, Gran Turismo 6 in 3D. Those racers are fantastic for 3D, even if Gran Turismo 6 has framerate drops and resolution drop.

Should have played Motorstorm 3D Rift downloaded from the PS Store, and Ridge Racer 7 in 3D! Amazing Racing games! Same goes with Gran Turismo 6 in 3D! Somehow the 3D games when racing really takes racing to the next level! Other outstanding games in 3D were Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Socom 4, ALL of the Sly Cooper games, and most of the Ratchet and Clank games! All of the actual PS3 Exclusives that had 3D were done masterfully, which left me begging for more. It's a shame that it did not go much further once PS4 arrived, however, Super Stardust Ultra, The Trine Trilogy, along with Bound, Sniper Elite 3, Sniper Elite 4, and Zombie Army Trilogy on the PlayStation 4 in Stereoscopic 3D are ALL a real beauty to behold! Simply stunning 3D games not to be missed!

@@itsaPIXELthing You're very welcome! :) Being a 3DTV owner myself, (I own several of the Panasonic Plasma P65VT30's, P65VT50's 1080p Models, and a Sony 55X930D 4K HDR Model which is nice but the Pana's are better with 3D), and I own about ~100 Stereoscopic 3D games, and well over 300 3D BluRay movies which includes Documentaries, Animated films, Unique 3D shorts and regular 3D movies from the theatre, so I'm a huge 3D movie fan that uses these 3DTV's since 2010 when Avatar was released exclusively on the Panasonic P65VT20 model. I even use them for upscaling 2D to 3D on most games to get some kind of depth on even today's biggest games on the PS4 Pro, because I really love the 3DTV depth in games which add another dimension to games that nothing else can replace. I do own a few VR headsets for the PS4 Pro, and I find the experience is nice, but the majority of games that utilize this feature are mainly demo type games, or games that do not push the 3DVR technology to the same levels as the high end games that we got in 3D on the PS3 like Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, or Resistance 3, which leaves me wishing for VR tech to be included in the higher tier games, instead of being stuck with what appears to be PS2 graphic quality games in 3D VR, (even though Resident Evil 7 was done really well, it was one of the few and not the standard seen in VR games). So yeah, I love the 3D technology, and I play them quite often and I have a 3D movie night for the family and friends on the 3D 65" Panasonic set, or on the 3D Projector if there is more than 5 of us to watch the movie, to get the full theatre experience, which is what led me to your video! I want to thank you for making the video, even though I own all those games it sure is nice to see people showing off the 3D technology to others that missed out, as it helps get the word out of how amazing that tech was in games especially, and that leaves hope that in the future stereoscopic 3D might have a comeback, and perhaps would be cheap enough to include in ALL sets so people can just use it as an extra feature, much like HDR is used now in a few movies and games. Since 3DTV sets are much cheaper now, people can get them for only a few hundred dollars, and try it out for themselves, and see what all the hoopla was about. As long as they get the Stereoscopic 3DTV sets that are active technology, they can view all 3D content in native 1080p instead of geting half the resolution, and that might get more excited about this technology, and might drive more people to at least wanting this in future games, since VR is uncomfortable in comparison, and still has that screen door effect that 3D never had, (since the headset is a cellphone screen with a magnifying glass glued to your eyeballs). :) TL;DR Thanks for the video, I hope it gets more people interested and curious about 3DTV sets, and might drive more people to wanting it for future tv sets to be included as an extra feature, like HDR is now. If not, at least you were able to show people how amazing that tech was for games, and they might go get a 3D set now that they are more affordable, and they will like it, esp. since movies are still coming out in 3D, and there is a huge library to choose from in the 3D world from games to movies. @@TheNewFakk28 JW, any other 3D PS3 game recommendations? With the PS Store closing I am trying to get all the best 3D games I can. Motorstorm Apocalypse/Pacific Rift 3D, Killzone 3, Wipeout HD Fury, Uncharted 3, Crysis 1-3 and Batman Arkham City are the best. Collections are great- Prince of Persia HD, Ratchet & Clank collection, God of War collection, Sly collection, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus all are crisp 3D. Some hidden gems I found are- Test Drive Unlimited 2, De Blob 2, Tumble, Super Stardust HD and Puppeteer make cool use of 3D. Thanks!

I wish there was a software that can convert the active 3D Blu ray content into Polarized 3D or even as a downloadable extension to some software like maybe Expression Encoder 4 SP2 so I can watch 3D Kung Fu Panda Polarized on the passive 3D screen. I would love Expression Encoder 4 to have a Polarized 3D converter inside. The SRS Circle Surround in SP2 is good and all but just imagine if someone made Expression Encoder 4 SP-3, and that SP3 would be the addition of Anaglyph, Polarized, and Shutter 3D control with support for importing new current codecs/containers, ESPECIALLY THE CODEC SUPPORT!

The Air Conflicts games are very 3D too. I suggest to play Air Conflicts: Secret Wars, one of the best stereoscopic 3D games. With the PS3 you can use the move controller as joystick! Very emersing!

Hooray someone else that enjoyed games in 3d. In Doom on 360 i found when rotating right or left the screen would break up to a certain extent that ruined it for me. Did you play Captain America on 360? Completed the whole lot in 3d in one 10 hour session from start to finish with no headache over a saturday night to sunday morning. Loved Gears 3 in 3d. However with Uncharted the resolution seemed to be cut back quite a bit. I tried for an hour but then went back to 2d :-(

Hi Pedro. Would love to check out this video in 3D! I mean Anaglyph 3D - lol. I know youtube will play Anaglyph, and most people have a pair of red and blue spex in a drawer some place. I made a thread in the Chit Chat section of Lemon Amiga today about this. Then at least we can see what these games might be like without expensive active shutter glasses. :) This video made me go back to Elite Dangerous and try this feature. Sadly, as you say, the novelty wears off after a while.

I bought my 3D projector + 3D glasses for less than 1000 USD a few years ago - because I was in Imax on ALITA (in 3D) now I have over 100 3D movies, and now/lately I play only 3D games. (PC and PS3, PS4, now I also bought Xbox 360 for Gears of War 3) ; Anaglyph is stupid - it only made my head and eyes hurt, when I tried it a long time agao. Uncharted 3 3D - full game here on YT.

I have Sonic generations for the 360 in 3d. it's great , but the 3d effect always gives me a headache after an hour or so !

@@shahid1296ify Anyone getting a headache in games, you should search for the options menu, and some games have an option to turn the 3D effect (depth) down to a more comfortable level. Some 3DTV sets also have this feature in the options menu of that particular set. Panasonic sets have this on Plasma tv's and I noticed that LG's do as well. I play most of my 3D games in a depth of no higher than 18 percent, and sometimes even 13 percent, and I still enjoy the depth and no headaches, which allow for gaming in 3D all day and night when I have a day off from work. Try it sometime and you will see what I mean. The deeper the depth is, the harder it is on the eyes. Hopefully the maker of this video can make a new one and let people know about this option so more can enjoy the 3D games without the headaches that come with that extreme depth in some games, and on some 3DTV sets.

Boas Pedro! E tu criaste isto mesmo em 3D, muito bom! Eu ainda joguei uns jogos em 3D, e até não desgostei, mas tal como disseste, uma pessoa cansa-se... Ainda joguei o Killzone 3 e o Resistance 3 pelo menos, mais que isso nem me recordo sinceramente lol. O Doom 3 deve ser uma loucura em 3D, tenho de jogar a expansão que me falta em 3D! O Crysis 1 é o melhor, mas o 2 está fixe, agora o 3... O Arkham City acho que joguei em 3D, agora que falaste nele lol. O Gears of War 3 não joguei em 3D de certeza, porque estava a jogar com o meu irmão em Split Screen! Boa, outro que joguei em 3D sim, o Uncharted 3! Hello. How to play uncharted 3 in 3D. . Tried many games and all of them have nice 3D effect everything is popping out . Uncharted 3 is the only one I can’t make it work . I have PlayStation 3D TV and PlayStation 3D glasses . It is got connected and works as it should but no 3D effect at all it look exactly as in 2D.

Boot Uncharted 3, in the main menu go to "options" (press square), then "display" and activate the option "3D Mode" and then "Stereoscopic". Then you can adjust the brightness and 3D strenght. That's it. Hope it helps!

Amigo , estou com um problema , todos os meus jogos funcionam o 3d , menos o uncharted 3 , o problema eh so nele , tem a opcao 3d mas nn fica em 3d , oq eu faço ? Grande abraço diretamente do brasil

Boas! Então nas options do jogo tens a opção "display" e dentro dessa opção tens o "3D Mode" no qual terás que mudar para "stereoscopic". Basta isso e o jogo fica em 3D.

Já tentei de todo jeito rodar jogos com capacidades 3d no series x usando a retro, mas função não ativa. Parece que não existe como.

I never liked 3D... not in games nor movies. When going to the cinema I always take the non 3D version if available. Personally I think it darkens the movie to much and makes it more blurry.

+Planetdune Indeed! I watched Avatar in 3D in cinemas and hated it! But, as for games, I found it the other way around! Vibrant colors and incredible immersion! But you have to be well positioned in front of the TV ;) Thanks for watching and for leaving your feedback! Appreciate it!

@Guy I did,, bought one of those fancy monitors. Returned it a few weeks later in warranty and got a regular one instead. 3D doesn't work... unless they can do a real holodeck :)
