Like he knew It was a poor attempt but did it anyway cause it'd give Steve a moment to recover even it means Bucky himself getting kicked in the head 😩 It also showed Tony doesn't care if his opponent is already down he'll still hit which totally shows he's not the victim in the movie despitr everyone thinking he is because of "so was I" line.

I know Bucky wasn't in the right mind set but Steve let Tony mourn over his mother and didn't tell him anything about it. I was a bit annoyed at Tony's reaction but in all fairness, he did feel guilt for all that time and then had to take up the family business from a young age without knowing the truth and then when he did see the truth, he had to watch it. I'm not sure about you but if anybody had to watch their parents be killed like that, I'm sure they'd be angry too. It was unfortunate how it ended up and in the end, they were all victims. Steve because he'd tried to save Tony's feelings and failed - that obviously made him feel terrible. Bucky because he knew he'd done it but he was under the control of Hydra so he also felt terrible. And Tony who had just watched his friend's old best friend murder his parents after years of believing they died through an accident. They're all victims unfortunately.
