I probably wouldn't have believed the issue of his credentials. However when this has come out I have no troubles accepting it! My faith is not effected. If anything it is up not down. It saddens me for I loved his preaching! But he isn't the first excellent preacher I know who either fell or turned out to be a hypocrite! My concern is not my own faith but as a preacher the faith of others!

I don't know that Ravi was ever one of us. I'm glad he's exposed. People need to know what kind of ministry they are supporting. My problem with Steven Baughman is he is taking such delight in all the pain and completely overlooking the innocent people involved. They need to know what's going on too but you don't want your doctor telling you you have cancer while he is smiling. If this guy loves truth so much, I can't wait for his book on Hunter Biden.

Years ago I read a comment by a Christian professor who did criticize & doubt Ravi's lack of credentials. I think he did not have such a broad audience. So, Others did complain.

@sonia Makky he was not a hindu. He had a Anglican like background, thus his surname. Neither was he a atheist I believe. His conversion story was around the age 17. And how much can one call a teenager a atheist when their beliefs are only in the formative process. Most believers possess very little knowledge of scripture and they clearly do not understand that sickness is a warning sign from God that you are doing evil in His eyes. Finally, affliction, it means something that causes persistent pain or suffering. Translated it is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness. So if you try to disprove what I am relating then you are proving to me that you are an unbeliever who is denying the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind. It will also tell me that you have blasphemed the Spirit of truth and you have condemned your soul in the process. I'm living this - not a mega- church but have essentially been excommunicated because I reported in writing that I had been abused - someone needs to investigate a group called Global Missions Inc., they'll be happy to tell you they came to prominence in 1948-"Kingdom Message', 'this Move of The Spirit" - they were sued for sexual abuse and settled on Dec. 15,2020 and no one other than myself, the people who negotiated, 2 Americans and this is a Canadian company in North Battleford, Sakatchewan, Canada - essentially 6-10 men run a global empire from a second floor office above the living quarters of the former Executive Director... and no one will speak up- Check the message by Andrew Snoke, (Apostle), Grand Junction, given to the elders and deacons-Carribean and Guyana - Sept. 11,2020 - same basic message that is taught to the elders and deacons in Canada and the US - it should be horrifying but isn't - the answer to 'a sister in the church states of claim of overly affectionate or flirtatious behavior by an elder or deacon....... a simple apology for that which was perceived.....

It was a small village Missions church near Fort St. John BC.We quietly supported a Shantyman missionary who was falsely accused of child abuse. My husbands brother was on the board and shuns us to this day. His money paved the way.It was more horrible than losing my dad to cancer a year before. We were even handed over to Satan for the destruction of our flesh!! Churches!!!! Wake up! Stop trying to CONTROL. LOVE one another. Grace, we have had a lot of forgiving to do and it’s been a hard lonely road. We didn’t move as we have a farm. Sometimes we wish we had. If you can it may be wise to do so for your children. We read a book called churches that abuse which helped us a lot. You NEED support. My story is long and yes I could have written a book, but if I can help you or just one other person I will do so. You can likely write to the Justice Center in Calgary, or even the Human Rights commission. If you write me back perhaps we can figure out a better way of communicating. Excommunication should be banished.

I was a big fan of Ravi Z and am heartbroken to read of all the developments. I still cannot believe this is true but I guess we cannot be in denial. Ironically ,Ravi himself often spoke on the 'evil within' and 'hypocrisy' and 'how difficult it was to be holy as an itinerant preacher'. I even found fault with my faith for making me so naïve. I saw inconsistencies in his story, but since I did not follow Ravi closely, I could not tell whether the inconsistencies were actually there or whether there was some cultural context that I did not understand. At any rate, I was watching to see what would come of the inconsistencies. The sexual scandal took me completely by surprise. However, I noticed that his lectures had increasingly less substance over time. I could not figure out why people claimed to have benefited from his lectures so much in his later days. As to his earlier lectures, which I could seldom hear, did I just think that the lectures had more substance back then because I was less mature at that time? In any case, my faith is not based on the behavior of our leadership. If I based my faith on that, I would have left Christianity by the age of 15. As to your argument about Daniel, yes scholars say a lot of things. I've learned to put as much credence in the academy on these matters as I do in the pastors whom they train. Ravi's statement of the argument itself is deficient. Daniel's scroll sets itself as having been written by Daniel with parts from Nebuchadnezzar and extending into the time of the Persian empire. So that's not 600 BC but rather 400 BC (approximately). The use of imperial Aramaic in the contributions that Daniel took from his time with Nebuchadnezzar act as a time stamp since such use of language is difficult (but not impossible) to counterfeit.

Many questioned his devotion to our precious Savior ~ since he seldom spoke of the life changing experience of actually KNOWING Jesus Christ through the Holy Bible and being Born Again! I don't see what's wrong with honorary doctorates. If anything I'd say an honorary doctorate is more legitimate or intellectually legitimizing than the card carrying phd who wrote whatever it is his or her advisor demanded of him. I've corrected a number of rally awful doctoral theses. All of my clients were able to extract a PhD. Kurzweil has honorary doctorates. And rightfully so. An honorary doctorate would seem to require that you produce a sizable body of work -- beyond a 300 page thesis-- consistently over a lengthy period of time and that that work be appreciably influential.

Most believers possess very little knowledge of scripture and they clearly do not understand that sickness is a warning sign from God that you are doing evil in His eyes. First transgression, it means an act that goes against a rule, a law or a code of conduct. Next iniquity, it means a wicked act or thing, sin. Finally, affliction, it means something that causes persistent pain or suffering. Translated it is saying that you are a fool if you do not follow God’s laws and commands and you go and sin because you will then have pain, suffering and sickness. So if you try to disprove what I am relating then you are proving to me that you are an unbeliever who is denying the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind. It will also tell me that you have blasphemed the Spirit of truth and you have condemned your soul in the process.
