There are many valid, negative criticisms that could be said about this platform, KZbin. But sometimes this platform functions beautifully, and both creator and viewer are the better for it, IMO. Dr. Grande is an example of KZbin in its best existence. About 10 years ago I attended a talk by Zacharias on a university campus in my home town. The audience was impressed with his brilliant apologetics and philosophy. What a tragic disappointment he turned out to be. Eloquence need not be conflated with piety. There was a very well spoken man in my church who was invited by the pastor to give sermons. He preached brilliantly. Just one slight problem: he was incesting two of his children. He was exposed, banished from the church, and his wife divorced him, got full custody of their 5 kids, and took possession of their homestead and business. He wound up losing everyone and everything of value to him.

This situation was heart breaking to a lot of Christians. Ravi was not one of the teachers I particularly looked up to but I HAVE listened to a lot of his material and appreciated his views. As a Christian myself, I tried to be gracious when the first allegations started to come out (this was BEFORE the evidence of everything came out). We all have things we struggle with and we can't expect teachers to be any different. But once the report was released showing that he wasn't just sleeping around but actually ABUSED and took advantage of these women, I was shocked. This mans material, no matter how much he contributed to Christianity, should be erased and I don't understand the people who are still defending him. I can understand the disappointment and confusion of those who came to Christianity bc of his teachings but this is just too much. The most disgusting part of this (from a Christian point of view) was the fact that he manipulated these women with their faith and actually PRAYED with them, thanking God for the opportunity to abuse them. Horrible, awful man. I can't wait for the Christian community to put Ravi Zacharias behind us and move forward with teachers who reflect the lifestyle we teach.

This kind of behavior is fairly common among Evangelical preachers like Bakker, Copeland, White and others who appear to be in the ministry for power over others, and, of course, the money and other gratifications. The Protestant Reformation came about to oppose the corruption of Christianity they saw being perpetrated by the Roman Church. However when looking at the corruption of the Evangelical ministry we can see that Protestantism has followed the same path of worldly corruption that they once condemned. One of the main abominations seen by Martin Luther was the sale of salvation [indulgences], and that is exactly what many Evangelical pastors are doing, offering salvation for money and a princely lifestyle.

I am hoping that someone will question the value of an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity. The best sounding part is the first, some seem to claim to be the second. To these tired agnostic eyes there is a lot of flim-flam associated with revivalist Christianity in general. I have lived through two Christian Revival movements and both were largely spelunking. @@fruhbisspattv5259

Is there a semester in middle school, and then again in early high school on the psychology of sexual coercion? Whether the abuser is the Weinsteins and Epsteins of the world, or the more common factory, restaurant, office supervisor or professor, sexual exploitation is going to be encountered by most young women, and even by some young men. Being able to see it clearly might be preventative.

That having been said, it has been incredibly disappointing to have these allegations come forth and apparently be true. Those of us who loved and honored him are extremely hurt that he would fall prey to these behaviors that are so bloody common to man. Predators are drawn to the church. Think about it....it is a group of people who believe things on faith instead of logic. That makes them highly gullible. @@JuxJacy I agree predators are drawn to people of faith. They sniff out vulnerability. So with that said I stand behind the logic of “no true Scotsman” fallacy. Buyer Be Aware that there are plenty of predators in logical atheistic circles as well. They go for any vulnerability they can exploit. Logical individuals are not immune. Christianity has a long philosophical, logical tradition as well. They aren’t all evangelical fundamentalists. So having faith is t necessarily a vulnerable trait to exploit. It can be. Predators should be the ones we focus on and why they predate versus being vulnerable. In fact, not being vulnerable tends to be a sign of psychopathic behavior. Thank you for your respectful treatment of this situation. Over the past years I’ve appreciated his logical approach in apologetics. He never was one who lifted on verse out of the Bible and built an entire faith system on it. You could follow his logic with truth. It may be a human characteristic to elevate teachers/leaders into positions where they think they are ‘more special’ than they are - maybe it has been that way ever since humans lived in community with each other. All I know is that now that I am 77 yrs old, I can clearly see that it happens over & over again - in many areas of life. But spiritual leaders stand out the most because people expect them to be perfect ..... and they are not perfect. This has been heartbreaking in so many ways. I admire the way this ministry has handle it so far . Many years ago I heard a very wise man warn people who are choosing a name for their new ministries: Never name a ministry after yourself!!!!! Again, thank you Dr.Grande for not being a ‘basher’. I sense so much truth in your analysis.

At 27:25. To end. :32 he talks about receiving another doctorate.....wow...

You are so kind. I am a Christian, also, but I have not found a Church which I can comfortably attend. There are other reasons, of course, but I admire your kind objectivity. Bless you.

Very entertaining and insightful channel. Consider covering the disappearance of Emma Fillipoff; not many may know her story outside of Canada.

I have asked him on the private of his Patreon, he is looking on the case he said. I was his room matte on the shelter, she was never acting crazy moving the furniture. Her mother Shelly knows from other woman living in there, she is just very discreet but it got out of handed in the media. Also she was never around homeless, etc... I think is normal to be distress on the days she was put on the streets from the Shelter and maybe she was simply afraid moving to more afraid, for a reason.

@@SujaaniPrem Thanks for your input. Though I've read that quite a few staff and residents had witnessed odd behaviour and paranoia, and she'd stayed there quite a bit before her disappearance. Isn't it possible the furniture incident occurred when you weren't around?

@@ckierdal She was being stalked from Ontario, she left her job in Victoria because of Julien. She never went many times to the Shelter was only two months. Being afraid is not being odd, being pushed by the Shelter and triggering her is another with the Stalker. An educated lady is not used to that. Even if she had money in the bank, she would have like to move on and safe. Fear does not make people think well with poor choices. She was very kind and respectful. People saying she had mental illness because she was watching the stars, or pushing dried leafs with her feet joyfully for liking nature, now that's odd. Instead of looking for Julien and why is she stalked. Sorry, I'm the person who was next to her trying to get her the emergency bed and the Staff put her hold to chit chat on their office. I asked to please give her attention that was becoming more and more vulnerable. In a situation like, a rapid change in 5 days... My main concern is that they have let free the stalker and reason, by covering their bad behaviour in the Shelter. Also the police can't look into darkness, Canadian police is not as the American Police who are more determine and not nicely agreeable. But of course they are not used to have those cases, their society has no crimes of those types as to follow an investigation.

@@SujaaniPrem I hadn't heard an account this close to the incident before. I must admit that I leaned towards it being a psychotic episode, though I'm not qualified to judge, and it doesn't look like anyone who could do so had a chance to either. I'm left with so many questions; I suppose that's what makes it such a captivating case. I hope she turns up to answer them some day. I'll disagree with you on Canadian police being pushovers: at least in Ontario where I live, investigators are held in high esteem around the world, being pioneers in quite a few areas.

This issue has been weighing on me heavily over the past couple of weeks. I listened to Ravi at times and looked up to him. I feel so much for his family that he deceived. A lot is being said by many commentators and it must hurt them - your analysis was fair, measured and separated the man from what he claimed to believe. I was surprised and glad to hear your take on it. Respect

The plants on top look happy. I feel zen looking at them. Maybe give the plant on the bottom a buddy. This story is about what happens when you take religion to another level until it is no longer about Jesus and God and more about the pastor or minister. Followers are then following the minister and not God.
