The thing I always loved about Steve was his voice. His voice is very warm and soft and it made me feel safe, and it helped since I was quite an anxious child. I felt a connection to him that only now do I realize was a crush. I missed him on the show but I accepted Joe wholeheartedly. I didn't get why he had to go but I accepted it.

But then he started talking and yep, definitely the Steve I grew up with! Interestingly, seeing him completely different made me notice that voice more.

My two year old nephew will be so sad once he finds out that Steve will never be back again. In a different interview, Steve described himself at the time of audition as having really rocky long hair. And even with a garage band appearance, he was still able to win the children's favor and land the job before the studio made him cut his hair. Because he's just the real deal. Much respect.

Oohhhmygosh, blues clues was my entire life when I was a child, steve was my hero, I loved him a lot. I couldn't go five minutes wirhout playing with ny jumping blues clues doll or my blues clues solar system, just to name a few pieces of the merch I had. I remember going to a live show and getting a handy dandy notebook, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world. I was soooooo incredibly heartbroken when steve left, I don't think I watched any of the episodes aired after that, just kept watching the reruns ♥ I just want to thank steve burns for being such a great part of my childhood and wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors :)

Row Of Birds Gaming Only 1 full season and like 10 episodes from last season and they cut him off cause older fans didnt like him you can find articles on this. It ended abruptly cause it wasnt getting as many views. I have nothing against the guy but when he auditioned he said he didnt even know it was a childrens show. He wasnt cut out for it like steve was.

@ANoobGuyProductions Steve Burns didn't leave the show because he was going to college. He wanted to move on to other things in his career. "Steve", the character, was written off the show with the story that he was going to college.

I loved watching blues clues as a child..I loved all the characters how it was a fun and educational experience for me...my favorite thing was when they got inventive...I remember when they made a guitar out of some rubber bands, a tissue box and a empty paper towel roll..I still even remember when blue had her birthday because that was my favorite episode. Steve Burns started Blue's Clues from 1996 through 2002. Now his album is called Songs For Dustmites. Donovan Patton started playing Joe Burns on Blue's Clues from 2002 through 2007. Now Steve Burns has his head all bald.

My daughter grew up with Blue and Steve and is now 18 and ready for college herself. We are selling all her childhood stuff and I REFUSE to sell ANY of the heaps of Blues Clues merchandise. It all still works too. She also had a Blues Clues party with a lifelike Blue’s cake and I rang Nickelodeon Australia and they sent Blues Clues freebies for the kiddies bags and for my daughter !! Donovan Patton was NOT a good fit for the show. He does voices now for other Nick Jr shows (Bot, on Team Umizoomi), but Steve's departure was the death of Blue's Clues.
