I'm a man who suffered physical and mental abuse by a woman I loved. I just felt that if I loved her enough she would change. I should have broken it off early ,but I loved her and just couldn't go. Finally after being pressured by my boss and landlady I had her arrested. Best thing that could have happened. I admire the woman who stood up for her friend. When your in that situation you need help to do what you just can't do by yourself.

The first couple is staying together. She’s not mad at the abuse, she’s mad at the chance he might leave her to abuse someone else. She needs therapy asap. She doesn’t even realize the real problem. She needs help so that she doesn’t allow someone like this in her life again. The battle doesn’t finish once you leave an abusive relationship (if she’s even going to actually leave fr). Leaving is just the first step. A lot of work comes after it to undo the damage endured.

I seen my mom who was 5' 3" tiny stab my dad who was 6' 4" because he was trying to leave. It triggers me because my dad tried to leave and she wouldn't let him like this girl. My mom cried abuse, and got away with stabbing my dad. She later went on to beat us her children with him. My mom got so good at playing the victim and lying that no one believed us. Sometimes you have to fight even if it is just a 100lbs woman. Others may be depending on you too. I know my life would have been very different with my dad. This woman acts just like my mom, I have been abused my whole life. A truly abused person is not so aggressive. She is the attacker I promise you and she will continue to be as long as she gets away with it.

I was 18 years old in a fwb relationship with a 29 year old male who was serving in the Army. The emotional abuse he had put me through litterally dragged me down and made me feel worthless. I thought it was impossible to leave as he would constantly blackmail me and he would always find a way to contact me no matter how he many times I tried. I turned my phone off for 4 hours and there was 383 missed calls and 100's of texts threatening me. It was a battle to leave. 2 years on and I haven't been happier I left and now I'm free. He kept me isolated from my friends and family and started to become controlling. Most times he'd slap me once I told him you're hurting me he flipped from 0-1000 It's so much easier said then done to leave an abusive relationship of any kind.

Amen I went through the exact same thing with a man that was retired from the army he was in the army for over 20 years and the emotional abuse was sickening I only stayed with him for my son and once my son turned 17 and said he was moving out because of him I said not without me and me and my son left and I have not looked back and that has now been 3 years now I am in the best relationship I've ever had in my life I've never been so happy and I would have never met this man if I would have stayed with that one

My brothers fiancé is the same. All quiet and sweet as pie until she's alone with him and they have an argument. Then she's punching him and telling him that a real man would hit her back, not letting him leave so that he can just get away from it all. The poor guy has never raised his fists to a woman in his life and she's the same damn size he is. He'd rather just walk away and let her cool off. That first couple, the woman is just as bad as him, that's a toxic relationship and the one that needs to run is Jen, her friend won't leave him. Also Steve is wrong, if someone attacks me, and the only way out is to put my hands around their throat and start choking, I will do that. You NEVER put your hands around a woman's throat for no reason, the only time you put your hands around someone's throat is self defense. That first woman is an absolute piece of work, and while the dude has done bad things he was pretty much up front about it and it is so desperately obvious that the "friend" is trying to sabotage the relationship between the two of them even further because she wants to set herself up as her saviour and get into her pants. The whole thing was a shit show, but the dude was the only one who showed any degree of remorse and honesty towards the situation (which doesn't negate what he did) and the woman managed to not only dodge any accusations of her instigating violence and just made it obvious that she not only gets off on the drama but is being entirely manipulated by the "friend" and I wouldn't be surprised if she was sleeping with her and using the show as up front ammo for the breakup.

My mom stayed with these type of guys when I was a kid until her face got beat with a shotgun. He then put her in the bathtub and ran water as she was bleeding to death. Then he told me and my brother if we call for help he is going to kill us all. He use to just hit her until that day he snapped. They always snap. We are all lucky to still be alive. My mom eventually left him thank god. He ended up being a crack head and sexually molested a 11 year old girl then hung himself because he got caught. For me and my brother though the damage was done and have PTSD for the rest of our lives. I kinda resent her for putting us in that situation and moved out when I was 15. My life luckily turned out great and have a wonderful wife I would never lay a finger on. My little brother on the other hand became herion addict and died from over dose in his 20s and my mom ended up in prison and a drug addict too. The after effects of Spouse abuse lasts a lifetime.

First segment - Trish claims her abusive boyfriend did "a total 360 from the person I met" - if he changed from the person you first met into what you believe he is now, then he did a 180 on you, not a 360. If he did a 360 he would have come full circle (which in his case is highly unlikely if the allegations of abuse are proven to be true), but whatever it is, the time for her to do a number on him is now!

She’s very near to the end of her tether and she’s fighting back….not leaving, fighting back. This first couple are in dangerous territory. I hope they split up. I suspect they won’t …it might be one of those situations where someone, either one, ends up really hurt and that is what it takes. .

I really don't like how Steve treats abuse victims sometimes, it's like in some episodes he's like totally there for them, feels bad that they're getting hit, doesn't make them feel stupid. This poor lady he's like well why are you letting him hit you? It's not that simple, and no matter what people say when you're an abusive relationship there's a reason why you stay. Whether that reason makes sense to the rest of you or not is none of your concern and doesn't matter to the situation at all, what matters is you help them get out of that situation. Don't put this on her like it's her fault, low self-esteem, being forced to stay, having a child, are all things that people will do to stay with someone who is abusing them. I can't believe that he was a cop that one point, I really feel like he failed people if this is how he treated them out there in his lifetime.

I think he saw through the “innocent flower” facade she put out. When her friend came out and was screaming she lost all sense of being soft and delicate and an innocent victim. There’s no excuse for abusing anyone but it’s obvious she isn’t the innocent one she plays off and they’re very blatantly toxic to each other.

one of my friends texted the group chat "9-1-1". I was in the bathtub I showed up still soaked and with a baseball bat, another friend was at a movie and brought a crow bar, and the best of us was out with her boyfriend and all his soccer team and their girlfriends. Showed up like a gang at his door. The man was flabbergasted. Thankfully no weapons were needed and she was safe but he never touched her again. We also sent letters to all his neighbors with pictures telling them he was an abuser. They ended up shunning him out of the neighborhood. then we sent the letter to his new neighbors just to be extra petty. Best friends show up. Period.

As a survivor of domestic violence I wouldn't leave I thought I deserved it, I wanted my son to have the family and both parents like I never had, and for young teens who mostly end up in this relationship are prayed on by not having no one so we think that's all we have and are scared because we're are we going to go with a baby, no job, no money, no help. Most domestic violence victims are isolated by jealousy/isolated by not having anyone from the start maybe and cut off from making a finicial living so we feel stuck and scared and as long as there not hurting the baby and just us its okay we can handle it but what we weren't taught and what needs to be taught staying and physical abuse around or infront of a child is also child neglect because your still allowing you child in a dangers and hostile environment. I was also scared because he threatened to take my baby from me and because I had no job, stable place to live, or anything for the baby as everything would have to be rebought he would win custody and we aren't gonna risk them being a punching bag vs us. What people don't know pack a diaper bag and just leave call domestic violence advocate or go to police station and they will pick you and your baby up and take you to a safe house and get you what you need, also help with court proceedings in the mean time. Domestic violence advocates have tons of funding for emergencie situations and you are protected from losing your child to child protective services as your doing what's in the safe and best interested of your child. I left in middle of night why he was sleeping. Most monsters don't show there true colors till you get pregnant or married then your there property and they treat you as such. Anyone rushing to have a baby with you fast is a big red flag. But back to original statement to comment its a escape goat and a little reason to leave even tho the abuse should of been the reason. Eventually you get tired of getting beat and we will leave or die trying.

I'm so glad you escaped. I was in a similar position. (24 yr old guy got me pregnant at 16) and I got away from him and now live in England with my 2nd husband and our teenage son.

We need to teach that getting away we won't have consequences and that we (moms and baby) are protected from child protective services and from losing are child in court. That stay and the violence around your child is neglect and can cause you to lose your child as well. If more people were educated about domestic violence rights more then so many lady's wouldn't be afraid to leave we know that we will have support and be protected by the law. Also most states if either party don't have custody it's who ever has the baby in there hand the police will allow to have or if a baby's breastfeeding a police office will not allow the father to take the baby either and no cop can physically make you hand over your child to there father if no custody order is established that its who ever has possession of the baby in there hands at the moment they leave and cops are present. There's alot that should be told to real victims not bitter baby mommas using things just to get there way and be vindictive this is only if its domestic violence situation and if not there should be a law if someone's lying and it can be proved they face consequences as well. There's alot in the laws that still needed work but most states will protect any domestic violence victim and them leaving with nothing except what's on there body education needs to be taught for sure and more laws need to be in place!
