My first instinct was to say "no f'ing way, they let him move in??" when I heard the update too, but then tried to look it at from the son's point of view. His father obviously has some kind of addiction issue, and has never been in his life. The mom clearly raised her son to have a huge heart and an incredible amount of strength, perhaps he wanted to give him one chance to sort his life out and be connected to his son and granddaughter, so he wouldn't die on the streets, and leave the son with even more unanswered questions and regrets. I'd be super wary of the freeloading loser, of course, but the son didn't even know the full story until he was 20. He probably spent his whole childhood yearning for contact with his dad, really wanted to connect with him, and I'm not going to judge the son for being generous enough to open his home and give his father one chance, if he laid firm boundaries. He doesn't owe his father a damn thing. But it's his choice to give him a chance, and perhaps being a new father himself influenced him too. It's a momentous time when you think about your own parents and raising a lot.

I couldn't have contact with my family for 20 years because my parents were sexually, physically, and verbally abusive and racist towards my wife. Then they would vandalize my property. I got back in touch with them 20 years later and they have gotten worse. It was a letdown. It hurts to have a family full of sexual deviants. They never apologized and stopped speaking to me again because they wanted me now to take care of them. So they were willing after all of these years to speak to me because they needed something from me. I calmly told them what I thought and now they banned me from my father's funeral. My family hates me, and they helped the person who SA me and they knew about this for 25 years. They want me to apologize to them. I did and they repeated history. Since I spoke up they have admonished me from the family. They said they didn't need to apologize because they didn't do anything wrong. That hurts too. I haven't heard from them in 3 years and probably will never hear from them again unless they need something.

I know the mother is married so i think i might be able to say Danny has a real father, the one who is there, who cares and loves him to the point he was willing to allow that THING stay in their home to see Danny (his son).

Just imagine if he picked up his son's daughter and just started randomly shaking her! Wilkos would have punted that man to Canada!

i really didn’t like how he reconnected with his father, shaking a baby can nearly kill them or cause severe brain damage. He’s a very lucky person. but even with all that knowing what he did to his mother how can he reconnect with a creep like that

He moved around a lot but the one place he did not move to is the place where his son is living.

He doesn’t deserve to meet that grand-baby after what he did to his son and his wife.

Mad respect for this Mama. The epitomy of what a mother is and should be. No surprise with this absent father. My mum had my 3 older siblings, then their father left, she had me to another man, then their father returned and we packed up and left for another town and job. The man who wasn't my real father, was the best dad a young tomboy girl could ever want. He took me hunting and fishing, I was never treated any different to the other kids, in fact, I was spoilt by him. I found out he wasn't my real father when I was 10 but it meant nothing to me to know there was another man out there, who knew where I was and how to contact my parents, but never made the decision to include me in his life. He had another family by then too. To me, I had my dad and I loved him with all my heart and soul and no stranger man was ever going to have my love because my dad had all of it. He died 2 years ago at the age of 79 and I miss him sooooo much.. And although mum and he divorced in the 80's he never left the town we were living in, although he had many chances to take better jobs etc, he didn't. He stayed around and shared custody with my mum and we grew up with him in our lives. When he got sick, I told him in his hospital bed that growing up, I idolised him, he was my hero, my love was all for him and mum and my family. I thanked him for teaching me all the things I'd learnt from him growing up and for giving the best example of what a real man and father is all about. He smiled and told me I was his baby, his wekabird (a NZ native bird). A father is someone who guides, protects and loves and this man isn't any of them. I have no ill weill toward my natural father but when he died they put my name in the obituary as me being one of his kids. The daughter rung me and said it would be good if I turned up to the funeral. I didn't. I didn't owe this family anything and got the feeling they were only asking me to make him look good. Perhaps I was wrong but I knew right from wrong, and I knew that going to his funeral and being asked to would be made disrespect to my morals and there was an ulterior motive with them asking me to go.

I gotta give it to Danny he handled that like a true gentleman! World class even. It made my so emotional that even after all that he just wants his family to be whole🙏 I know how you feel brother I’m 31 years old and I’ve never met my dad I know that broken feeling and it’s very honorable you still let him meet your little girl! From one dad to the other I respect you so much sir

Cudos to you Mr. Wilco that you didn't pound the man to a pulp. To do that to a son and his ex wife is despicable.
