My Lord! Does it get any better!!! I can remember jumping in my room as a teenager when I first heard this.. Hackett is a true asset to the Guitar and to Music in general.. getting other excellent musicians involved like this... Incredible vocals, lyrics, guitar.. It was frightening how good Genesis was with the young Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford... Thank you Steve.. for improving the human creative experience

Some days I feel like a traitor. When I listen to Gabriel's vocals on numbers like this, my inner ear hears Nad's inflections, and I smile. I turn 64 in a couple of months, and Steve turns 70 early next year. It is astonishing what he continues to do. Long may he reign.
@timeshavechangedpipirijate45404 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, without wanting to offend, it is a mere reproduction that does not content save nostalgics. Nothing to do with the magic of Gabriel. It is a mere reproduction, with no added value. A high-resolution photograph of a painting (piece of art) that was painted 46 years ago. It’s not very honest of Mr. Hackett to dust off these old laurels, after his discography, that except his first albums is absolutely boring and anodyne. Until the cow stops giving milk...
@MichaelB47083 жыл бұрын
Brings no added value, seriously? I think all of us hearing that magnificent Orchestra would beg to differ
@capecyn3 жыл бұрын
@@timeshavechangedpipirijate4540 interesting, I just listened to an interview with Steve and someone made a rude comment using the cow inference. He has every right to do the songs he greatly contributed to. And they're hardly dusty to the millions who STILL LISTEN to these gems and flock to his concerts. This was a magnificent performance. His loyal fans are very grateful that he has continued to keep their legendary music alive. The rest of the band left it behind. Rock on Steve, Nad and the band!!!
@chacecrowell3 жыл бұрын
@@timeshavechangedpipirijate4540 Would you prefer Genesis themselves play them? He's the only member of the band that will touch these early classics and that he's willing to go the extra mile and enhance/improvise them shows he's not just in it for the money. Some people are better additions than sole members and Steve's discography proves more that he excels as the icing on the cake than as the creator

Would you have ever thought it'd have been Steve that ended up doing it the most credit? Genesis stuck with their pop for most of their career which was likely due to Phil not wanting to pass off drumming on his more creative stuff and PG rarely did much outside of The Lamb title track solo. Never would guess this is how it'd turn out
