I love what STEVE HACKETT brought in Genesis music, he brought the romantic and strange side of genesis music. STEVE HACKETT is a very creative musician , his way of playing guitar is very special, very unique and dedicated to musicality , and give to me so much emotion.STEVE , is like his music , delicately powerfull , moving , funny , strange, and romantic . He has kept his soul child , ant that's why I like so much , the musician and his music. THANKS FOR ALL STEVE , Take care of you.

Young pup here. Only been listening to Steve for nearly 50 years now. Starting with Nursery Cryme (the first great Genesis album, IMHO). See him play live if you get the chance. He still has the chops. I’ve seen him every time he’s played live in Los Angeles over the last ten years (last time was November, 2023). Always try to get a seat in the first few rows. Well worth the money spent.

I saw your performance in Southampton, last October. It must have been fate, for I was supposed to be in London for the Genesis farewell tour, but it was cancelled because of Covid. But the trip to UK was already paid. So then I discovered the 'Seconds Out' tour and decided take the train South instead. This was the album that made me a Genesis fan when I was about 12 or so. Much more was my amazement that you played this set at the Mayflower theatre in 1977. I must have been divine intervention, I'm sure ;-) Anyway, this piece blew me away. Thank you for the solace of your music.

I saw Steve and band with the 40-piece Orchestra in Glasgow a couple of years back. When they launched into this one, the whole place was shaking with the power of the sound. Not noisy, or just loud...just sheer power. What a moment. Thanks you for so many great shows with and without Genesis.

This is a song that evokes very strong emotions for me. It brings me back to a very particular time in my life, days of wine and roses, with this playing on the soundtrack. And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts...just like this wonderful song! Thank you, Steve.

Steve, my buddies and I found "Voyage of the Acolite" at a time when we were all stationed in Germany in the early 80s and at a record store in Amsterdam, which is where we used to go for some much needed R&R. We were all in various phases of self, mental and spiritual exploration and discovery and I personally was exploring the Tarot Major Arcana at the time. "Ace of Wands" and "Shadow of the Hierophant" especially were and still are some pretty evocative tracts... Listening to them now takes me back to a time and place like few things have the power to do. All I can say is "Thanks!"

That song is most certainly one of my first musical "experiences", in the most spiritual meaning of the word. I was born in 1971, raised by listening to bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Ange (a French prog rock band), among others. I consider myself extremely lucky for having experienced music created by these marvelous artists. I do not simply listen to music, I feel every single note deep inside my body, my heart, my soul. I'm so thankful for what Mr. Hackett and others have brought to the world.

One of the first albums I ever bought. I think that the long sequence that forms the outro to "Shadow" is absolutely apocalyptically epic, dark, sonorous and deeply melodic. I met Steve very briefly backstage at one of this excellent shows in the early 80s in Manchester, and asked him to play it, which he very kindly did the next time I saw him! It's a remarkable track.

I just recently saw your show at the Elsinore in Salem. I had never heard this track before. I've been a long time prog fan and especially loved Wind and Wuthering and Trick of the Tail when you played on them. I was instantly grabbed by this chord progression and started to figure it out in my head. When I got home I worked on it and even the lead line and have been entranced ever since with it. I was very curious how you came up with it. It seems to have no real pattern yet each chord and note in the lead line really takes it some where. It so grasps the intellect and the soul.

Steve brought so much to Genesis and I have been delighted to see how his career has flourished beyond words since I first followed Genesis in 1973. His dedication to both his art and vast catalogue of work is wonderful. There are plenty of covers of Steve's work, but I really like how Fleesh have both added their own style to, but fully respected, the original works such as Shadow of the Hierophant kzbin.info/www/bejne/anure5p9Z9VsoLc and Genesis tracks such as The Lamia kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHXNgap6nK10aLs If Steve has time to listen, I hope he enjoys the work of these gifted people.

I missed a lot of that when it came out. Only recently have I begun trying to catch up because I have the time. I played it during our most recent eclipse, though one could hardly detect it here in California. I didn't see it in progress but those who were tracking it nearby said the small bells coincided with the beginning of the Sun's return. Of course I know science but we still think back to old beliefs. Bells, drums, and horns were all said to drive away evil spirits, right?

"Groove away?" Ah, it's a zombie dance track, right? That would explain the slow, ponderous beat and the length of the song, to give slow-moving zombies time to move to it!
