Nice voice indeed. But I'd prefer to hear it's own stuff. Unfortunately his tone is too close from Gabriel's one. Sounds like he tried to mimic (in fact, it was not the case). It's like when you do a cover: betray the song with talent and inspiration, don't try to reproduce.

Prog rock is greatly overused and no one seems to know the definition of it. Genesis didn't invent it. And most of their music is nowhere's close to fitting any definition of prog rock. There needs to be a better term to describe this kind of music.
@adolforodolfo69294 жыл бұрын
@@tixximmi1 I'm pretty much with you here. There isn't a hard and fast definition of prog rock. There are a number of characeristics maybe that "prog bands" have to a greater or lesser degree that are generally recognised as typical of prog, but you'd be pushed to find a band that has all of them (Wikipedia has an article "Characteristics of progressive rock" which is a pretty good general summary). I think Genesis tick more of these boxes than a lot of bands, less perhaps than the overrated Yes, but more than my beloved Jethro Tull and definitely more than Pink Floyd, who I don't think are a prog rock band at all. But ultimately I think the best "prog" bands just play their own very individualistic music. Genesis play Genesis rock, Tull play Tull rock, and Floyd play Floyd rock, although they don't really rock at all...

Absolutely stunning!....What a performance from all, especially the vocalist who takes this like a fine wine, up to another level, well done sir! I never thought I would hear Suppers Ready perfomed live again so many years later so well done and thank you to Mr Hackett for alowing this true masterpeice to come alive once again. There really is an angel standing in the sun. I sincerely hope I can get to see you on tour but my health and age might prevent this one last hoorah!.....Thank you, thank you, thank you, you made my my year. Please do not ever stop playing these masterpeices.

I first listened to Foxtrot in 1980 as a 13 year old kid. I have never tired of Suppers Ready. I have listened to it many thousands of times. This video is best version of it I have ever heard. That climatic solo move me to tears - I can't wait to see Hackett and Genesis Revisted in October 22.

One of the best performance I ever seen when he visit Mexico some years ago. Same show, the same energy. That singer! Bloody Hell! All incredible musicians. The best guitar player that combines style, classics, imagination and hard R n' R.

I was at the penultimate show of the tour in Ipswich last night and I was absolutely blown away. It was more than a concert- it was an emotional experience. Steve's guitar, the drummer was spectacular, as was keyboards and the guy playing several wind instruments and, of course, the singer brought an authentic 70's feel to it. Several standing ovations during the show. Truly epic and memorable.

This singer is excellent. Yes, I know he's not Phil or Peter but he's pretty damn good. I like how he tries to make it sound exactly like the original. He's not trying to put his own spin on it.

Phil is, and always will be, a Peter Gabriel wannabe.

I like and hear only Peter (even no Phil) on Genesis early songs. But I pretty wonder if Phil or Peter was here on the place of Nad could pull these songs off as much as what we can hear from this performance.

Hackett is in fine form here. Just gets better with age.

If anyone had any doubt, here is Steve Hackett, as melodic and tasteful on the end solo as anything ever done. True genius. Of course, Supper's Ready is a true classic, unarguably the finest progressive rock song of all time. They'll be listening to it 100 years from now. Never gets old.
