Generational poverty has been like a curse in my family. Fueled by low education and too many kids. As a person who knows what it's like to break out of poverty, I can tell you that everything Steve is saying is absolutely true. I was the first person to graduate college in my family. It took 12 years, but I graduated with honors and debt free. I had a great career and did well enough to retired early. I can add a few bits of advice as well: Don't be afraid of failure. Endeavor to persevere. Don't let the thoughts, observations, comments, opinions, and judgements of others tell you how to live your life. Don't wait for opportunities to be given to you, make them yourself. Learn. Learn. Learn. If school won't teach you what you want to know, educate yourself.
