Wink, the ASL translator is fantastic! I learnt ASL back in 1984 for my job. I was a special education teacher, and I worked with deaf kids. Anyway, grat job!

Only one word I can say about your video is FABULOUS. You signed so eloquently and so poetically. The lighting system, background / foreground color, and your attire are so appropriate that the content of ASL is very clear and easy to grasp. You are one of the best interpreters I have ever known. Great work, Wink. I am an ASL teaching veteran.

AMAZING... I especially loved the ASL directional verb in the beginning of the speech when you interpreted "I am honored to be with you today..." The contextual and conceptual contents of the entire presentation were incredibly visual, in particular "... early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous." Thanks Wink, for investing your time to be a role model for us.

WINK! You da man! Unbelievable! I watch it over and over and over. You are AMAZING! PLEASE please please please please, do more of this! Songs and skits are great, but I am starving to learn more about COMMUNICATION. You are the BEST EVER! Wow! Bravo bravo encore encore! ("I have a dream," .....?) THANK YOU!

WINK, Oh my GOD! I have been to your shows and workshops at Silent Weekend, saw you around at Region two, and I knew you were good, but OMG THIS IS AMAZING. I wish we were all like this, but you are an artist. Every so often I need a jolt of inspiration to keep from going nuts, and WOW did you fit the bill! Thanks so much for reminding me of what is possible in this field and inspiring me to break form and escape the linear language of English.

You are truly blessed...You Rock...I am a professor at an interpreting program and this is going to be an assignment for my students to copy sign. If they do half as good as you, I will consider them a success... Thank you for sharing. Tina

Your ASL is so incredibly beautiful. I've been sitting here with my jaw dropped for the last 15 minutes and will probably spend the next 15 minutes cleaning up my drool. You've taken complex morphology to a whole new level!

Ditto what Pazsordo said below! Come back to Austin! I love that you do these kinds of vids sometimes! It's good practice for a beginner like me to see what you choose to sign for different concepts in formal settings. I just wish you'd have worn a cap and gown!

I don't know this gentleman's name, but he has become my rolemodel for the level of skilled Interpreter I want to become. I am in love with a Deaf gentleman and have the privilege of having many Deaf individuals to call family. For them and my love, is that I admire this gentleman's skill. Thank you again...

Just came across this video. I too am gobsmacked at the ease his speech is represented in a visual language...a truly meaning based interpretation. I'm inspired and could use this one example to learn from for years. I would be curious to see your interpretation if it was done in real time, standing beside him that day. How different would it look?

Love your work! I'd love to see your interpretation of Ellen's 2009 Commencement Speech at Tulane! Do you take requests?
@WinkASL5 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks! I kind of take requests, in that I listen to what people want and think about it and put it into a running list. But I do LOVE Ellen! So, the chances are pretty high that I will do a translation related to her!
