I think Joshua Kimmich should be the priority. He can play CDM to allow Rodri to rest, he can play RB when facing a team with a slow LW or a deep defensive team to let Walker rest, and he’s worked with Pep when he was managing Bayern. He’s also in his prime at 29 years old and already knows the Pep system very well. Manchester City cannot risk Rodri facing a big injury and not having a backup.

Lies, Guardiola never tries to replace players, he changes his game plan based on the players he has. That is why since David Silver or Aguero or Vincent Company or any City legends that left no player was made to replicate what a former player did. Cancelo was that good but Pep did not try to get another player like him, theres not going to be a player to replace Gundowan or KDB, theres just going to be change of playing because we have different players. And that is why Pep is good, what he is doing with Gvardiol playing him out of position its not something he is doing because he is trying to replace anyone with him, its him changing his tactics to fit the players he has based on the talent they have, same with John Stones. Same with Phil Foden,, Foden is not the same player as KDB so he never makes him play that way, he uses him in the same position based on his skills. He keeps on changing, and he will never try to make one player play like a legend that left.
