This is a really big psychological thing going on there. At first I was like WTF who douchebag would do that. But watching this interview, he's just a person that had/has deep social anxiety / emotional issues - like all of us. But his manifested in a strange way. He seems very honest here and trying to become a whole person. agree totally. all he had to do is just not talk about it after he lied the first time. every time you're asked about it, simply say it's too upsetting to talk about and be done with it (who the fuck would pressure a 9/11 survivor to talk about their story if they say they don't want to). he did the opposite. several times over the years he discussed his fake story in DETAIL - that's the disturbing part. on marc maron's show, he went on and on. And remember, he didn't confess, he was busted, or about to be, that's why he did this apology tour. if not for the Times article., he'd still be going around telling his fake ass tales. Sick stuff. also totally likely that his tv show FORCED him to do Stern as a condition of keeping his job.
