Interesting he added wheat germ in the shake. I add that to my breakfast oatmeal every morning. With that macro profile, both shakes can almost pass as a meal replacement shake. Something to consider for those below stating that it has 'too many carbs'. Steve may have had this sometime in the day, then off to training/filming movie shoots for hours then back home to a solid whole meal.

People will call me crazy, but I really think the reason Steve Reeves was able to build muscle so easily was because he used orange juice as a base for his protein shake. The orange juice has the vitamins and enzymes necessary to drive the chemical reactions that build muscle. So many before and after Reeves have instead used milk, and they never reached Reeves' heights. You can ingest all the protein in the world, but if you're if your not getting the other necessary nutrients, you're not going to reach your full potential. I know people will disregard what I'm saying and blame it on Reeves' genetics, but I maintain that it's important to look at what was unique about Reeves' daily nutrition.

I've been playing with the Steve Reeve shakes for a while. The Gelatin is the most important ingredient for bone and joint and heart health. Also, i substitute the orange for apple juice and add wheatgrass powder. Another neat addition is a couple slices of ginger with the orange or my apple juice version.

Hi I watch your channel regularly and you give great advice. I'm a huge fan of Steve Reeves and I'm aware of his Breakfast Shake. My question is this, I know he used to put raw eggs into his Shake and in his book he recommends using pasteurised eggs. But I have also read that raw eggs have no effect on the body? As they went in is how they are coming out. Eggs should be slightly cooked for any body absorption. I have the Shake but cook and eat the eggs. Can we have them raw or not???

Great video overall. But you're missing the protein that comes from bee pollen, oats, and wheat germ, which are actually all pretty significant sources. The actual protein content might actually be upwards of 45 to 50 grams if you include those protein sources. And I believe it's actually about 160 grams of carbs. I put all of this into cronometer.

@@GoldenEraBookworm haha, guess those outside the US don't know of this name. Orange Julius was one of the first smoothie shops/parlors around the 70s 'till mid 90s or so. Popular chain found inside most large shopping malls in the food court areas. They were everywhere in the past decades. I haven't seen one in YEARS. Could be defunct or only a few scattered around the nation now. Their traditional style of smoothies that resembled an 'orange-creamsicle' type were iconic.

@@phoenixrisin2269 dumbest answer I’ve read! People aren’t supposed to live on earth forever so no matter what you eat your heart has to stop in order to die no matter the disease. It’s not like he was 40. Many things can put strain on your heart not only nutrition. Damn keto people!🤦🏻‍♂️

@@highaltitude787 It’s only stupid for idiots that haven’t been a personal trainer and studied nutrition for 43 years like I have. What do you think gives you all the diseases you die from genius?🤡🙈

@@phoenixrisin2269 😂😂 sure. If you were truly knowledgeable about nutrition then you would know your statement about carbs is false. I have a non alcoholic liver disease and only began healing when I eliminated fats (healthy and unhealthy) eliminated unnatural sugars but kept complex carbs and lean protein. I consume complex carbs and my blood results always come back excellent. You would also understand not all carbs are the same. Also candy bars, cookies etc are not carbs they are junk filled with processed sugars and unhealthy fats. Stop pushing your shitty keto agenda, fool!!

@@highaltitude787 Fats never gave anyone fatty liver. Carbs do that because of insulin resistance created by your stupid diet. Educate yourself. Your causing your own disease because of your stupidity!🤡Vegetable oils, high fructose corn syrup and fructose along with processed carbs will give you fatty liver and liver disease. I’m 61 and my liver is fine and I have the arteries of a healthy teenager. I also know what supplements to take to cure fatty liver. Find out yourself since your so smart😂
