🏅 Steve's RB-swapped, AWD S15 Silvia | HALTECH HEROES

There is something quite unique about this S15 Silvia. And no, we're not talking about the hole in its headlight or the rather familiar yet distinctly not SR20 sound emanating from the engine bay. When Steve started planning this build he had a rather unorthodox idea of transplanting an entire R33 GT-R drivetrain - complete with the AWD system into his Silvia. The result was something so unique and well thought out we figured it deserved a Haltech Hero feature!

Damn, man. An RB swapped 200sx (I prefer s13, but s15 is a close second...gimme the ca18det over an sr20 any day, but my heart lies with the RB) is one of my dream cars(only in manual and a street car)...but to also have the AWD system in there, too?! That's mental. Fucking beautiful car, man! I can't imagine how much work went into all this working, very impressive!

I was going to say I think they would have cut firewall forward out and stitched a 33gtr or c34 awd Stagea front end on with modifications to suit s15 front bar, guards and bonnet

@@daneprostamo-brown6552 You're probably right. AWD skyline front chassis legs have notches where the driveshaft pass through, probably the only way to get the s15 to accommodate the AWD.

At a guess, you would just unstitch the strut towers from an R33 and weld them into the S15, no point in cutting rails or anything that drastic if you don't have to, also if you chop the front off you may as well just tube it and save some weight.

A lovely build. The only thing I would change is the Tillett seats (B3.5/B4), if he is going to be driving any distance. They are monstrously uncomfortable, give you a numb arse, and in the summer it feels like your back is being barbecued by the seat backs. Replacing my Tillett B4s was one of the best decisions that I have made.

While this car is VERY unique and probably one of a kind, it won't be worth much $$ to the average person because its been modified and not in its oem condition. This will only sell to a limited amount of people but if this guy is not gonna sell it, more power to him. But i give him mad props to get all that done, def has the WOW factor.

@Automobile Addict not quite the same. The Skyline has really wide awkward rear and front fenders, they dont look natural. The silvia however has the 240sx look, smooth body line.

7:44 Thinking what an idiot ... I had a co-worker that saw my drag radial 315's in the rear and asked why i had Kumho 245's in the front .... I looked at him and said, this is RWD. He then asked again, so why didn't i put 245 drag radials in the front. I said because its NOT awd and i don't need drag radials in the front ... Just like THIS CAR is AWD and needs AWD traction hence why he has 4 big tires ... you don't put 4 drag radials on a RWD car

Could've gone a twin charged SR20 with a VVL head. Stroked to 2.2 and with an alloy block. Would make 1000HP and the weight would be far better than this. There's an AWD S13 with a VVL, stroker, but minus the alloy block and twincharger. It does similar times to this. So with alloy block and twincharger you would have a real time attack and drag strip warrior with better torque and handling than this.
