Steve Smith & Vital Information A Prayer For The Generations - Part Six

This improvisation brings to mind a Joe Zawinul quote about Weather Report: "No one solos, everyone solos." We are all listening and offering ideas with an organic and naturally funky flow with no one player actually taking a solo. This happens to be the only improvisation that Manuel adds the acoustic piano to his palette of colors. Video editor Christian Grassart captures the nuances of the performance with his skilled, and musical, editing choices. I can watch this video over and over again and see, and hear, something new each time. Enjoy!
