Dude, I agree with everything that you just said in the video. Now, think about this, in a few years Steve is going to wake up one day and say to himself "I think I can top that!" 🤯

Steve vai is like jimmy hindrex...they were both wat ahead of their time....both of them is truly God's.......I've been a fan of Steve since he got with David Lee roth back in 1986...and over the years Steve vai always go to the next level that no one has ever done.....Steve is so passion about his music and its like art...he can take any musical piece and turn it in to something out of this world...

I started following Steve when Zappa first took him in , to basically play the stuff that Frank couldn't....which is saying a lot . He has gone so much further since then. Yes , he is on another level , one of the guitar gods .
@paulmahon16132 жыл бұрын
He learned to play from Joe Satriani and to compose from Frank Zappa. You can hear so much of Frank's influence in Steve's music.

Going to burst your brain even more. Current, Steve Vai has been playing that song on that "instrument" (it's not a guitar, it something totally space age, something else) .. anyway, he's playing that live, on his current tour. So, not only could he play it for this video (multiple takes), but he is doing it LIVE!!! .. now, does THAT not melt your brain? .. THIS is why he has been my favorite musician for a very long time.

You are thinking of the 3 neck JEM, the top was a 12 string, a 6 string in the middle, and a fretless 6 string on the bottom. I can't remember the configuration of the heart shaped guitar from his DLR days.

Vai named the guitar "The Hydra", custom built by Ibanez to his specs including the Steampunk appearance. The guitar is so heavy that it is strapped to his waist!

And it's of course placed on instead of worn on when played live. Puts a little more into the musical performance at the same time

For those kinds of things, Steve Vai 🎸 is a Guitar God, he is beyond the stratosphere in terms of his level. the way he makes love to guitars is unique and special.

Doesn't surprise me. Saw Vai in 1980 when he played with Zappa. I think he was maybe 19? Any kid that can play with Zappa's band at that age has a wide open future with his instrument.

May I note that Steve Vai started by writing down the music sheets for Frank Zappa and later became a member of the "Zombies'" himself. Starting a career as a musician in that way, opens a LOT of doors inside your brain in a way you can reach some uncharted areas....🖖

In a nutshell, many virtuoso guitarists see how good they can be on the guitar. Steve Vai sees how good the guitar can be.

Some observations: 1. Imagine how many guitar “virtuosos” (not that there are many of them on the Planet) watch this and say, “Damn. I Suck”! 2. Funny that you mention that he’s an Alien. In 1995 he gave us ALIEN LOVE SECRETS! 3. He’s 60+ years old and says that he STILL practices 12-14 hours a day… 4. Mozart; Beethoven; Bach; Vai (and perhaps 1 or 2 others and not necessarily in that order)…there are only a few that have a Vision so far beyond every other person that has ever existed Great Reaction
