I remember as a 10 year old child hearing this song on the radio during the best summer of my life in 1986, such a special time.

As a Top 40 FM radio morning guy in the 80s with a daily audience of a quarter million I was always grateful for songs that featured a lead vocal and ONE harmony singer. My first career was singing harmony onstage and in-studio, and this was one of the tunes I studied and rehearsed with so as to be able to crank up the mike and add the third-part harmony live on-air. On the album version (and the hit single) the vocalist backing up Mr Winwood is no less than James Taylor. Harmonizing with those two was a rare treat!

I remember hearing this song for the first time when I was 5 years old!!💭 I didn’t completely understand all of the lyrics at that age, but I loved the synthesized percussion, and guitars!!🎸🎺🎹 I also appreciate the melody in a musical application sense!👨🏾🎓 I think this song is prime example of Award-winning songwriting, and producing!!🏆🥇🥁🎹🎼🎻🛩🔊🎵🎶. I kept thinking of this song, as I grew up in the love of my heartwarming family!👨👩👧👦💓🥺😢🏡

At 3:12, that doesn’t sound like a normal violin. Is it an electric violin? I for one always thought they were bagpipes making that sound, and this is the only live version that has that sound in it.

@@vishvanidevi-maharaj4504 Actually, his signature instrument is the organ. But then again, he's one hell of a guitar player as evidenced by his work in Traffic. Actually he's one hell of a multi-instrumentalist!
