A very very good video, everything explained very clearly and it's nice to see you mentioning that people need to check the power and stay legal, I think a huge amount of people buy these guns due to their easy tuning for FAC levels so it's great to see somebody like yourself acting responsibly.. Great video. It is a little obsolete now that the L2 ships with an externally adjustable regulator. That is a real game changer for people who want to swap out barrels. So much easier that de-gasing and stripping it down. The newer rifles also come with updated.forward port and a .22 calibre sub 12 ft lb L2 now comes with two 1.2mm power jets rather than the 1.0 mm that Steve refers to. Also bear in mind that longer barrels of the same calibre have greater muzzle energy so that might also need a regulator tweak.

Screw on the air bleed is 2.5mm and lock nut for reg is 4mm, adjusting the reg is a 3mm*

I'd love one of those. They look fantastic and the engineering ingenuity is class-leading, which really appeals. Sadly, so expensive when I already have fabulous FAC Impact. For that money, I could buy another powderburner but it doesn't stop me being miserably envious!

@@dangerous8333 from memory I think there is a about £300 difference...Impact ~£1700, Leishy 2 ~£2000 and I can't afford both! Add a good scope and you're much closer to £3000, which would buy a very capable centrefire and a high-end scope. Not sure it as tunable than an Impact (but let's face it, Impacts can be a faff to tune, but once they are tuned they are impressive), smaller magazine capacity, lower shot count, shorter barrel (surely lowers max speed, long-range accuracy and lowers shot count?)......hmmmmm, it makes the case more difficult for me personally as I'm a hunter. I'm also a mechanical engineer and really appreciate the engineering though...and I have been known to part with cash just because of engineering excellence, which only an engineer will understand (we can be a weird bunch).

@@5euk - you're probably right, but it doesn't have a 700mm barrel which stabilises slugs beautifully at well over 120m...love to see Roger to a long-range comparison Impact Vs Leishy 2 - that would be a treat!

I was told that doing anything with the valve action (opening it even) will void the warranty... in fact its right on the guns description on EdgunWest website. I think most have a red rubber paint over the top and the threads, and if that seal is broken, the warranty is void. I don’t see why that is, but wanted to bring it up as you are showing people different. Might check with Ed or your dealer on that.

Believe me that video was more than just useful.. thanks alot ... however... i have a 30fpe leshiy 2 and i want to increase the power so i have intalled the plenum, incrased reg pressure . Now about the jets (the brass pieces you spoke about ) what should i use ... ? The one with a bigger hole or the one with a smaller hole ? Thanks

I have my rifle waiting for me at a (reliable) relatives house while recuperating from surgery. Since I live in the states I don’t have to worry about the sub 12, requirement. If I want to up the power, using your process, do I just tune up until I reach the velocity I want or do I have to change the puck and jets as well? Thanks for this great review on this subject, I look forward to more!

Probably not, you trade power with shot count. You need to balance the rifle to your needs and trade them

@@airgunology I asked because in my experience with the FX Impact, the larger Plenum enables you to get the same velocity with a lower Reg setting, or same Reg Setting and much higher volocities. Staying at the same velocity with lower reg settings also affords you a higher shot count. I guess the L2 is set up differently in that respect. Thanks though!

Hi Steve, very good informative video. I have the Leshiy 2 from Francisco. At the time there was a waiting list for the .177 but he had a.22 in 250mm so I got that and later came the .177 with a 350 barrel etc. My question is, as it is set up for .22 with the 250mm barrel and under 12ft lbs when I slot the .177 in with the 350mm barrel I believe it will be under the 12ft lbs limit, am I correct?

yes going from .22 to .177 will lower the Ftlb as .22 takes less air to get to same ftlb.

It doesn’t mention barrel lengths regarding nozzle jet sizes on the Edgun Spain website. I’ve got a Leshiy 2 in .177 with a 250mm barrel. One of the nozzle hole is block off and the other nozzle seems very large?

Barrel lengths won't give that much extra velocity. It is all about the power / energy applied to the pellet in the breach.

@@airgunology just trying to work out the best set up for mine with a 250mm barrel. It came from Edgun UK (tuned at Airfective I believe) with one nozzle hole blocked off. Probably best to leave it alone to be honest but I can’t resist messing around with it!

I have 2 leshiy 2 one from Francisco Barcelona .25. Which btw came Perfect 960fps with 26g hybrids slug i think I got 7 -1000fps in a row out of 20 plus shots I had 7-8 FPS spread which killed my impact previous best. Now I got my .30 from edgun west, and I’m not feeling the .30 so dropping it down to .22 and yea same thing only 1 9 and the other blocked? I just brought it up to 1.1 but not tested. Any info on this would be great

@@derekswift969 Even post Brexit Edgun Spain take care of any import duty. You do not get stung with an extra charge.
