RL Burnside did famous for his rendition of this song, "Ol' Black Maddie.". Samanthas version is just as strong. The slide guitar is intricate and ripping. Not easily pulled off. That kerosene slide guitar is absolutely fierce!!!

My favorite guitar of hers. I saw it & heard it the 2nd time I saw her (of 26× so far) in August of 2014. I ID'd the can by only seeing the colors on the back, and totally amazed Go-Go Ray. [It's a K&B airplane fuel gallon can for remote controlled airplanes with 2 stroke engines. I had a K&B engine and remembered its box's colors from 28 years ago.] Times when that nearly photographic memory hooks you up.😁

Real, genuine, extremely talented musical performer. Down-to-earth, open and fun personality shines through, and is what makes all her performances special. Great backing band deserves a lot of credit! Perhaps not quite yet the best blues guitar virtuoso or vocalist, Samantha is still nonetheless exceptional. But when you play and sing with the passion she does, and have developed your own original compelling interpretations, the result can be better than that from a more technically advanced musician, anyway. Great to see younger musicians keeping the blues going STRONG!

Plus, there are people who excel at one type or style of music, and others who are better all-around players. Then, there are players and groups who create great songs, beautifully performed, who aren't the 'best.' Personally, it isn't the speed or technical prowess on a musical instrument that is sought, but the feeling put into the music, the quality of the song, the originality, innovation, and creativity. A good example: Joyce Carol Oates and Neil Gaimon are far more advanced, sophisticated writers than Stephen King, yet one can enjoy Stephen King's creative imagination, characterizations, storytelling, and literary talents equally as much when reading their books. Some of my favorite songs are simple affairs with a strong riff, like the Beatles' 'Day Tripper,' or Steve Miller's 'Mercury Blues.'

Trivia, not a kerosene can, but an old "KB Supersonic" model airplane fuel can. The fuel was methanol, castol oil, and nitromethane. Ms. Fish plays like she's running on nitro!
