A lovely capture of the wonderful, serene mood at the magnificent Cassien. With me living in Monaco this is my local water. Nice vid mate.

Thank you very much for that - very kind - I've just uploaded a new video on Cassien actually - I love everything about Cassien - the first place I ever visited outside of the Uk and still my favourite escape :-)

I'm on to it now Steve and thank you, these vids will tide over during the searing heat of August here in the SoF. I'll be back there soon though during the cooler Autumn months when the temps drop off.

Hey Steve, I've just seen a Cassien video with Phil Smith and Joe Taylor on youtube… its from the 80's or early 90's by the look of it. I remember asking you if you had any old vids from Casssien and you said you doubted anybody would be that interested as they are old and un-edited. Well this one I just saw is old and un-edited and it's great! The fish known as Half Moon (that went onto a massive weight) is on there at 29.5 lb! A great nostalgic watch!

Mattie Mclean hi Mattie yes I’ve seen all or most of their old videos - I’m actually on on of theirs during my very first trip!! Of course these are edited and put together as films, albeit quite basic but that’s how it was then 🙂 nash did put together a video with us on Cassien (30 years of Cassien) different to my one where they did use a fair bit of my old stuff from years ago - have you seen that one? Maybe worth a look if not 🙂

@@stevebriggs4638 Hey Steve! Just watched "30 years of Cassien". Made my evening! It was great seeing all the old footage that related to all your articles in Carpworld I've read over the years. I haven't been on nearly as many trips there as you, but it is fair to say that I am just as besotted with the place! After watching that video(and many recent "day-only" video's by other anglers) it made me think that maybe the night fishing ban is a blessing in disguise.... it cant do the fish any harm to have 50% less pressure and it makes them that little bit more special when you have to fish out of your comfort zone, so to speak.! Thank you so much for all the experiences and knowledge you have shared over the years.

Great stuff as usual Steve, how does fishing Cassien compare to the hazards that you face ar Rainbow. Larry

I'm going this tribute
@stevebriggs46389 жыл бұрын
speedmasterllr Hi Larry I guess the hazards are much worse at Rainbow with sunken trees and many more snags .... but as a water it doesn't come close to Cassien really

Always a pleasure to watch your video's Steve, nice one again, very informative! I have one little question; is Cassien a 2 or 4 rod water?
@stevebriggs46389 жыл бұрын
ArcticEwi glad you like watching .... cassien is four rods - you probably often see only two as I have them spread apart with my boat in the middle just to make everything easier.....

Steve for my first time going to France, what lake would you recommend to me?
@stevebriggs46389 жыл бұрын
+Charlie White difficult to answer Charlie as I don't know the sort of fishing you want to do or what you are looking for ... the best advice I can give is to get hold of a copy of French Carping by Clive Williams (from Freebird publishing) as that will give you stacks of options and lots of info. I'm sure you will find something you like in there mate.....

Hi Steve, great vid. Does the permit entitle you to a boat or is that yours that you brought down? Great video. Love the idea of doing days then getting a slap up French meal in town after! Holiday mode all the way!
@stevebriggs46388 жыл бұрын
The permit is just a yearly one for the Var region and entitles you to fish any of the public waters in that region, which includes Cassien. It's purely a fishing license so all of the tackle, boat etc. are what I've taken myself - it's is nice chilling out in the evening in that part of the world 😊😊
