I often take my 14 year old daughter to the Canadian Brewhouse to watch Leafs games..... the one downside to Matthews scoring so much is her celebration of choice.... she SCREAMS, and I mean SCREAMS "Sí Papi!!!!!!" in EXACTLY the voice you have in your head right now.... and she's a quarter spanish so her accent is 👌. It's mortifying to say the least, at least after the excitement of the goal wears off.

3 goals went in off leafs, but also 2 of those were DOUBLE deflections. so pretty rough. im actually okay with this loss. leafs played hard, and looked actually really great. they have definitely cleaned up their own end play. it looks like they have a system with how they get out of their own end! they actually looked like a competent NHL hockey franchise! still love Knies. probably my favourite NHL hockey player now. guy is a beast

I know right. I told my buddy, the second half of the first period may have been some of the best defensive hockey I’ve seen us play. The rangers were struggling to get pucks in our zone and maintain pressure. There was a lot of good things in that game. Puck luck and the greatness of the rangers power play is what won them that game.

I've been thinking about this for awhile and since Morgan Rielly's name was brought up at the end of the video, let me share my thoughts. What a classy guy Rielly is. I mean, he has a pretty decent playoffs last year for the Leafs, including scoring some big goals, he has been with the club for awhile now so he has seniority. And the Leafs go out and sign Klingberg and basically hand him Rielly's spot on the power play. Rielly doesn't complain at all, which ain't easy to do, since I think we can all relate to that situation. Just want to acknowledge something that could easily get over-looked. Good job #44!!!

@@dmonsef please do explain how we're supposed to do anything about winning the cup in December. What a stupid comment.
@dmonsef9 ай бұрын
@@Kyt2024 First off I can relate to Leafs fans suffering since '67. Not as many years, but my Caps took 40+ years to win the Cup, man it was so tearful joy and glorious. I'm not trying to rub it in, but winning it something so special that you have to enjoy it bcuz you never know if you will get another chance. Anyway, OV and the Caps in their prime were a high scoring team just like the Leafs have been. Same sort of issue, High Powered offense, iffy d-group with inconsistent goaltending(Woll looks promising, but he needs to get healthy again and develop into a top #1 goalie for the Leafs). OV prime was breaking records with his goal scoring and the Caps were getting President's Trophies(3 in total), but no Cups. It's about the team finding a way to put it together and right as the playoffs start, persevere through adversity and go on a unbelievable run and capture that Huge Silver Chalice to drink some delicious Champagne from! OV had to become humble and buy-in to Trotz coaching(not sure Sheldon Keefe is right coach to do it) to win that Cup! OV put breaking goal scoring records behind him and focused on doing whatever it took to win as a team! Matthews needs to learn that. So that is why I say Leafs fans should not be caught up in Matthews breaking records. To answer your question it's about building a team mentality to winning the right way, and that means not getting hyped up about some great flashy goal scoring from Matthews. The regular season is there both mentally and physically to build the players and team up for a good playoff run!
@RPierce849 ай бұрын

I'll try to one up Doug. Over the past 4 games the Leafs have scored 22 goals. I have seen exactly 1 goal. I was out for the 7-3 game vs the Rangers, I turned the Columbus game off after the second and watched the Petes game instead, I was out for the 7-0 Penguins game and my stream stopped working for the first goal of this game. I told my wife that if they lose this game and only score that one goal i'll never watch them again so they can actually score again.

If they showed everything no one would have even talked about Vesey. It would be an "Oh that's how that went down, cool." If it wasn't for Tavares injury Vesey and Keefe telling the goalie coach to fuck off would be the only talking points. The Tavares injury though was far and away the most fascinating thing is the series.

How often you going to see both Panarin and Fox make a pretty careless play - let alone each of them within a couple seconds of each other? Serious question- What is the Leafs goal song? I know it got changed because the song promoted like drunk driving or something, and then I know they had a knock off version of the Avs. What is it now?
