It's not unfair that he did not make any kind of tier, but I'd love your thoughts on Jackson Beresowski. He is Connor dewer with a bit more of a scoring touch, was with Newfoundland until they folded and I believe got picked up by the marlies

PP time! Good ranking overall. I would have Jacob Quillan and Cade Webber in Tier 4, and I think Ryan Tverberg is worth a shout in Tier 5. A couple additional notes: Fraser Minten is too old for the world juniors so he won’t be back with Team Canada. He’ll be with the Marlies this season. Hirvonen took that big hit at dev camp, but he was actually healthy to start the season. It was a bad eye injury that had him out until January.

So basically you have to be a top 3 draft pick or a generational player to be tier 1? For me, Cowan is tier 1. He was the best player in the entire OHL last year. Yes Marner and Nylander should have obviously been tier 1. Knies could borderline turn into an NHL star as well. I saw massive potential in him before he made the Leafs. People forget he was playing on the top line with Logan Cooley and how high was he drafted again…? How much points did both Cooley and Knies put up? Cooley was drafted 3rd overall and put up 9 more points than Knies as a rookie. Knies got very little PP time and less opportunity than Cooley with 2 min less ice time per game. On a points per 60 minutes basis, Knies put up 0.1 points less than the third overall pick of the NHL draft as a rookie (2 versus 1.9 points per 60). Physical monster even as a young player. He’s also tier 1 for me. If you are comparable to a third overall pick, what are we even doing here not listing you as a top grade prospect?

d argue thatMinten could be in Tier 2 with Cowen. Not as talented in pure skill but thinks the game much better. He also bounced around a lot last year, two WHL teams, team Canada and the Leafs, a lot to adjust to, not to mention the emotional roller coaster.

Last moments arrive for a NCAA player to get a call up and become a roster member for 2024 season. Shaymus Stevenson was top graduating player of the year last year for the entire CCHL Junior A hockey league. The best player of the entire Junior A League did not get a fair shot from NHL scouting . It just makes the whole system look corrupt , in my opinion. Smiths Falls is hosting on November 12 and 13 an allstar gather tourney from a couple of Junior A leagues calling it " Battle of Ontario ". All kinds of scouts will be there. I expect Leafs Scouts to attend. Too bad the games will be 2 period versions of hockey but fitness should not be a question of true Junior A Allstars.

I say this because his development is like a bull market, as opposed to a bear market. His best skill right now is his ability to learn, and that is a dangerous thing. I think Knies is a solid third liner we are putting on the first bc we don't have Hyman. I'd put Patch or McMann up there and have Knies a worker, wearing down opponents on the 3rd and creating some offense.
