Thanks Tish all I hear Elvis was a very kind person and helped a lot of people I heard he liked a good laugh and wasn't big headed or had an ego I think Elvis cared about his fans and didn't want to let them down giving concerts when he was unwell the man is a class act plus Elvis never forgot his roots when his family were poor

You know maybe if Elvis knew then just how loved he was and how much he’d be loved 44 years after his death, maybe, just maybe it would have saved him. I know it wasn’t possible, but man, how I wish it was, how I wish he was still here. He was an angel and 42 was just too young to lose him. 💔

Great interview; thanks, and God bless. Even after all these decades, I still find what the Wests and Hebler did to their "friend" appalling. They admitted they did it in anger. No one "helps" a friend by publicly humiliating him. It's heartbreaking that his final days were spent troubled by this disgusting betrayal.

I read her book. Parts of it wa very interesting & other parts she seemed to be very careful what she wrote. They had a wonderful relationship. My favorite part was when she got him a pocketed scrapbook & they put his police patches ( one in each pocket) & they talked and he loved it. It was an evening he was down & lonely & she was very kind to him. My only problem as myself being a nurse, they put her in a terrible position allowing the drugs on the property under her care, so in essence it was like he had his own pharmacy. Elvis being famous, rich and charismatic, I’m sure at times he was hard to resist. I miss him still.
@gracieg7601
@gracieg7601 3 жыл бұрын
I think she’s being careful about the things she says out of respect and love for him as her patient and her friend. She doesn’t want her book to be misunderstood. She said it about a ghost writer of her book. See that’s what happened to Sonny , Red and Dave. They told the guy stories but where they made the mistake was not reading it before it was published.
@boldchick101
@boldchick101 2 жыл бұрын
@@gracieg7601 Sorry, but I think Sonny, Red and Dave are making a lame excuse because there are contracts involved with publishing books and they could have sued if they were misquoted. Sonny, Red and Dave wrote that book in anger and as revenge for being fired, plain and simple.

@@daisyhoward5472 That is no excuse for publicly humiliating the man who bought them houses, cars and paid them for doing nothing but lay about 90% of the time. Elvis did not trust them to keep the secret of his ill health which is why it was never shared with them. Elvis was frustrated with their lack of respect and their meddling in his life, as any employer would be; they crossed boundaries no employee should cross. Their biggest problem was the fact that they were too familiar with their employer, they forgot their place as employees. Their lies were inappropriate, uncalled for and totally self serving. If you condone what they did I seriously question the moral code you live by.

So refreshing to hear about some of Elvis and behind the scene stories. I don’t remember the day he passed because I was too young. I was born in October of ‘75 and often tell my mom I was born in the wrong era. I’m a fan of all things Elvis and can’t wait to get back to Graceland to see all of the new additions. That’s my new goal. I’m only 8 hours from Memphis, but gas prices are eating at our bank account just to get to work! I pray things get better soon.

I can’t pick just one. But, his rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water is the best I’ve ever heard and, therefore, my favorite version. I get goosebumps every time I listen to him sing it. The same with If I Can Dream. Elvis has a way with lyrics and style and words, just EVERYTHING. I can’t pick just one. He sings in so many genres it’s an impossible challenge. It truly is.

And for me, she just verified the reason for Lisa's recent death. It was a medical condition that ran in the family, as I understand it. She mentioned that Vernon had a heart attack in 1975 which I didn't know about. Thank you Steve for this inciteful interview!

I heard Sally in an interview on the Jungle Room channel here on YT, she said it took near 10 years to authenticate the info she got from EP’s doctors, medical records and more til she was ready to publish it.

What a magnificent interview. Thank you so much Steve. I enjoyed your podcast immensely. Just have to say this to you. I am very religious and spiritual. My parents died at 33 and 45 respectively. Mother at 33 and father at 45. I was 3 and 10 yrs old. My brother was Steve and I’m Sandra. My father remarried to an awful woman and when he died 6 yes later I became the real Cinderella. Anyway. My brother and I became extremely CLOSE. My brother Steve became a Franciscan Priest and died when he was 36. Needless to say I miss the 3 of them so much. So the coincidence of his name being STEVE and yours being Steve and his love for St Francis and becoming a Franciscan and your last name being Francis. I am sure I found this on U-Tube for a reason. I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe everything is meant to be for a reason. Anyway THANK YOU STEVE for this U/Tube channel and God Bless You. PS. I’ve watched “ELVIS” 5 times already and end up crying my eyes out from the last scene with Priscilla and saying. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU until the end of the movie. He was a Spectacular, Amazing, and Special Gift from God. He will live on always after we all are gone. I hope to meet him as well as my family in the Afterlife (Heaven). Finally someone told the truth about Vernon! I always believed Vernon was jealous of the gifts he gave. And I forget who said it, Joe or Charley, that Vernon got where he acted like it was his money and Elvis had to set him straight! It was fine if he spent buying Vernon homes, cars etc. plus was basically supporting his wife and her children.

Yea, n he was not good at managing things either, look at how he lost a million dollars due to a scam...they can say he did a good job all they like but the way he sucked up to Parker when everyone could see Parker was pushing n pushing Elvis to the deep end when he needed rest was disgusting, Parker was all about the money, he didn't give a damn for Elvis the person ( sorry for my language). The worst act was Parker pushing Vernon to sign the contract to manage Elvis's memorabilia n all on Elvis's funeral.day !!!!!! What the hell was Vernon thinking ???!!! Any decent Father would have told him to leave it for now on such a painful day !!!! I was so shocked as how dumb he was that he couldn't see Parker's greed. The only reason Vernon got that job was because Elvis was his son, before Elvis was famous, Vernon was a drunk daily always fighting with his wife who got arrested every week, he's lucky his kind hearted son saved him !!

Tish summed Vernon up perfectly Elvis was his free ride for sure and I've heard and read he was selfish and always on Elvis's back about his spending habits, Vernon was the reason he sold the G ranch and the Fans forever blame so many around Elvis on how they did nothing to help Elvis yet no one ever looked at Vernon his own father , who seemed did nothing to help his own son ? I have often thought if Elvis didn't become the super star what would have become of the Presley's as Vernon wasn't an academic and not much of a provider, he knew how blessed he was financially with Elvis never again would Vernon work.
