I started growing my own flowers, I dry and press them…saves me a lot of money, I get a lot of butterflies, hummingbirds and bees…and I do love flowers…

Yeah I agree, it’s just as important to me to show people when it hasn’t quite worked out rather than remake the ending and make out it never happened. That way people are not so hard on themselves if they mess up a little if they know I do too. 😀

I gave up on trying to use my flower press. I have a 12000btu microwave n even though I was doing it in the short bursts my flowers were getting scorched. I never would've thought to dampen the cloth. With the objective to take the moisture out 😂😂😂 This is a VERY HELPFUL video! Thanks Steve!!!!

Nice makes Steve. Shame those microwave dryers still leave air in the flowers and "wet" the colour a little but it's so fast it's worth doing I say. I agree if you use the microwave method you do need to seal them, well demonstrated :)

Appreciate his new video on using dried flowers. I like the methods of sealing the flowers first. When I tied this a couple years ago some of the flowers went very translucent and lost their vibrancy. This encourages me to go back and try again. Thanks Steve!

Honestly sealing them really really helps prevent that happening. Shame I didn’t use a white background it would have shown the flowers off much better.

oh, after my comment below, i wanted to add that any moisture on your flowers will darken them. even spray sealer. I make soap and have been trying to put flowers in and on my soap, wracking my brain on how to keep them dry ! lavender buds go inside the soap and they, too, brown. So, I took to creating soap flowers.. LOL

@niallbrady187 The very best UV resin, hands down, is the JDiction brand! I believe they ship nearly worldwide. JDiction has 3 or 4 different types of UV resin: low viscosity (thin, for getting into intricate nooks and crannies), high viscosity (thick, for doming), and medium. Good luck! 😊👍

Steve, I’ve seen a few resin globes that have a full dandelion head in them. It is not a pressed flower. Unfortunately, there are no tutorials. Do you know how this would be accomplished? Thank you!!

You have to seal them or they bubble like crazy when introduced to the resin

I always put mime in UV resin to remove the bubbles. Same for anything, really, that o am adding to resin.

I have now sealed pressed flowers first as I don't tend to get many bubbles unlike full flowers I always seal them first with resin
