That flashback sequence makes me tear up. Steven went through so much as a kid. If you watch all the episodes back, you can really see his mentality shift as he starts to take on the weight of the world by himself. Now that no one's in danger, he has nothing to fix, he's falling apart as all the hurt catches back up to him.

I think it’s nice that Ruby and Sapphire sometimes do their own thing. They realized they want to be together as Garnet but they also enjoy doing different things at times as each other .

seeing how emotional yall get really impacts me as a long-time fan, it shows how timeless steven is and how even after being over for almost a decade it's message still manages to reach out to new viewers and fans, it's such a classic and important show and it's message will remain relevant and true til the end of time

Yeah Steven’s never been to a doctor he never went to school , he doesnt have any perpetration for the normal world, he’s 16 and has no real life experience to help him live . 90% of his friends are gems, and while he does know beach city residents it’s limited

These episodes were so surprising and very sad. Steven proposing to Connie was so shocking. His past trauma affects his body and grows bigger. I felt bad for both of them 😢😢😢😱😱😱

They're all doing various things, getting to know themselves as individuals... they COULD be more interactive in episodes, but, they are off doing some of their own things, and, well. Steven isn't experiencing it that way. Steven's actions are all MAJOR classic trauma responses. Growing Pains is amazing, really one of the best single eps. To see everything Steven's been through, grounded and contextualized. Aside from responding inappropriately to new stressors, trauma also will take feeling safe and starting to relax as a time to express and process, and oops now you're breaking down.

Sometimes people pleasing issues are less about situations when people made you people please specifically and more about how you haven't been given the security and the time to have a chance to develop and discover yourself and your own needs and wants.Then all your brain adapts to focus on is mostly about other people. Steven makes for an excellent example to spread awareness for this, exactly because we didnt expect it. He's had a loving family and a lot of support and he was an extremely cheerful kid .Nobody including himself would have thought he's going to suffer from the bad stuff that happened to all of them. While it should have been obvious after everything he's gone through. Our bodies do not differentiate the reasons for why we are being hurt or scared or if our parents intended for it to happen or not. It all just gets registered and can cause trauma if its too much for us to handle at the time. It's a tough thing to watch, but I think pretty important, because there are so many people who are living with these sorts of issues causing them serious trouble in functioning on a daily basis, and not even being aware it's something that needs healing. But if people are more aware of how these issues work they may at least be able to recognise when they need help.

These episodes highlight that there's still so much of a gap between the gems and humans, we saw it more cheekily (buh dum tsh) with Pearl handing out toilet paper at the roller rink. Garnet says there's no future where Steven didn't propose to Connie and that's part of why they encouraged him to do it, but most humans would have told you getting engaged to your 15/16 y/o gf at 16/17 is wild.
