I really appreciate you two bringing conservation to the forefront of social (and political) topics. Steve's outdoor experience, historical perspectives, and marketing skills are providing an ideal example of what it means to be an outdoorsman and meateater. Tim helps introduce this narrative to an expanded audience! Thanks guys!!!

Two wonderful men discussing a great topic. Insightful as usual. I was an outfitter for sometime in British Columbia and this is common knowledge. This is great though for people getting out into the woods for the first time. Also I have a book reccomendation. As someone who has a library on outdoor living skills I'd recommend When All Hell Breaks Loose. Author Cody Lundin. A book written by an outdoor living skills instructor who decided to write a book on urban survival/prepping. Incredible book.

Glad they have started off talking about phone GPS and Spot devices. These are two of the things I used the most when out in the bush. I use an Alberta specific version of OnX for my hunting trips, which stops me from ever getting lost, as well as planning my routes. I also use a Spot device which automatically pings my location every 30minutes to a site that friends and family have access to.. As well as sending the occasional message of things like "I am doing fine" (which I send whenever I am at camp or in a specific spot far away from camp - mostly to help others rest easy), "I will be out here a little longer" (such as being delayed in hunting or harvesting), "I need some help out here" (as if I have car troubles or minor injuries) or the straight up SOS Emergency Services one.

Steve rinela is such an elitist. He owns guns , hunts and preps but constantly trys to let everyone know that he's not like those "other" gun owners , hunters and preppers.

Pretty sure the proof is in the pudding. He does great work across hunting, conservation, history and practical living.

Maybe you should learn a little more about him before you slam him. Pick up his book Meateater. It covers a lot of his childhood and history up until now. It's a quick read and very informative. Also, I am a former non-hunter. Stumbled upon Rinella a few years ago in my early 30's and have changed my view on hunting because of him.

Steven Rinella has done more for wildlife conservation than a guy like you can conceivably do in two full lifetimes.
@chickenfishhybrid442 жыл бұрын
Really? I don't think he does that. I think alot of other people that talk to him, like this host, say stuff like that about him because they often are ignorant of hunters and just have a stereotype of them all being dumb hillbillies.
