Steven Seagal in movies: RISE and FALL

Rise and fall of Steven Seagal with some edits.
His path is covered with a lot of fairy tales and deserves a separate video, while here I only want to speak about Steven Seagal’s movie career. Which started and went much smoother, than other’s due to some useful, but shady contacts.
They were not that top notch contacts, so Steven had to drip with some sweat for awhile.
Steven soared to the Hollywood Olympus like a rocket and within 4 years and 5 movies has put his name in a list of top paid actors.
But by the end of 2010’s Steven became a joke in every way , starring in movies, where he barely speaks, barely plays, and most of the time is replaced by stunts.

he started strong! for a guy who wasnt an actor he actually had pretty good chemistry with everyone on screen, his first movie he was the star and i think he carried it well!!.....whether his stuff would work in real life isnt for me to say, im not a martial artist, but he SOLD it like it would!....he wasnt doing jumping split kicks and moves with supernatural flying abilities, his stuff had a simple and direct way about it, and there was also a brutality!.....he's stabbing ppl in the head and breaking ppls teeth out with billiard balls! there was a grittiness that was new and original!......he's the first martial arts movie star whose movies were VIOLENT! ...like gritty street kinda violent!...............i think if he had died after his 5th movie like bruce lee, he would be right up there with the best martial arts stars of all time!.....BUT unfortunately he went to shit in the mid 90s!....turned into this 418 pound guy in a chinese jacket with beads fighting for the environment or something, and became a joke!

You're right about the cruelty, Seagal really did want to bully the bad guys in his fights. It's gets to a point where you think, "I'm glad this character has insane mobsters and terrorists to cripple, otherwise he'd be doing this stuff to whoever was around"

Under Siege was definitely the peak of his career. Before the accessibility of internet/google to find out what actually happened, I did always wonder why the hell the killed the main character at the START of the movie (Executive Decision) 😂 I’ve only seen about 5 mins of his later work and it’s unwatchable. It’s amazing how far one can fall 😕

I must admit his early movies were cool. Looking back on them as an adult though there was way too much brutality, even for me. Even the worst Schwarzenegger or Jean-Claude Van Damme film or even Sylvester Stallone wasn’t this bad! His peak was definitely the late 80s through early 90s! He pretty much went downhill after under siege.
