According to actor Stephen Tobolowsky, Segal told the director half way through shooting 'Glimmer Man' that his character 'couldn't kill' anyone, and forced the production to reshoot all of his scenes.

And Stephen has to basically make up a lie to Segal to make him kill his character saying “my character is in pain, you’re freeing me” which Segal initially agreed to , only for him to suddenly decide weeks later when filming the follow up scene to blurt out “thank god I didn’t kill that guy” and refused to not say it

@mrcritical6751 You know the story! I loved Keenan Wayans reaction of face palming and remarking "We have now entered the realm of high comedy..."

*Glimmer Man is one of his Best movies!* I don't care what anyone says, it's a legit, Good action movie. This was also Segal at his most LIKEABLE too. For once he wasn't just another Hard nosed cop type.

I enjoyed the early Steven Seagal films. The Glimmer man I thought wasn’t the best. But Fire Down Below I enjoyed but it had its problems. Great video! Keep up the great work!

Saw Glimmer Man once on laserdisc and don’t really remember it all that much except for the moody/edgy opening credits - this had come out the year after Se7en and any film that had a serial killer of some kind had some crazy opening stylized credits. 😂

Actually, Jeb Stuart's script for Fire Down Below changed greatly. I read it in the mid-90s when Keenu Reeves was set to star and it was a simple murder mystery with a little action. Years later, when I saw the finished product, I hardly recognized it. Actor Richard Masur (The Thing, License To Drive) co-starred, in the first act, as Steven's boss. In the end, his part and the entire first act were reduced to flashbacks during an opening montage!! Truth is, the script was never that great script to begin with. I think, originally, Stuart wrote it on spec in the late '80s. So it sat around for many years.

He only worked on theatrical releases for WarnerBros during the first part of his career, that makes him an A-list action star by definition (and same for Van Damme with Universal).
@paulf19994 күн бұрын
His early films like "Marked For Death" were pretty good, but his direct to video/DVD films especially "Attack Force" (with its odd voice dubbing/ADR) is a thrash, bit a substitute for sleeping pills!
