not to shit on your comment but rapping doesn’t have to just rhyme the end syllable. he does some internal rhyming to make it sound good like “set up shop, got a few drops, rose to the rock, now i got the socks” “got milk, socks made of silk”. internal rhyming is important to recognize otherwise you get idiots criticizing Lil Wayne for ending every line with the N word when in reality he’s still doing a fuck ton of rhyming.

I think he would appreciate the stylistic interpretation of "Tarantino" as a character though, none of them are supposed to represent the real person.

The best ERB, my ranking of the verses: 5. Michael Bay - Fun and entertaining but nothing insane. 4. Stephen Spielberg - May have the best beat and has some really good references, the other verses just set the bar so high. 3. Quentin Tarantino - Best flow and the most fun for me, has some really good roasts and a lot of references, it is super creative too with the unclean script part. 2. Alfred Hitchcock - Amazing flow and beat (great use of SFX), a lot of references and paints a good picture for Alfred. Great rhyme scheme with the mamma-jamma part. 1. Stanley Kubrick - Represents Kubrick very well as a crazy genius, referencing a ton of movies and scenes. The 127 line is one of the best in all of ERB imo and the overall visuals are crazy.

Spielberg is the highest grossing director followed by Cameron, the Russo Brothers and Peter Jackson with Bay coming in 5th ahead of people like Nolan, Tim Burton or Ridley Scott. Tarantino like the others here doesn't even make it into Top 10.

@@Songittheledgebog Bit of a late response here, but if my memory serves correctly it was after Jaws was made, Spielberg tried to meet Hitchcock on the film of his last movie, and Hitchcock had him removed, not knowing who the young man on set was thinking it was a random person just hassling actors and what not. A few years later, another actor who knew both directors tried to set up a meeting, and hitchcock said "Isn't he the boy who made the fish movie? I can't meet him" turns out, Hitchcock was ashamed of his taking money to do the voiceover for the Jaws ride at Universal studios, and thought Spielberg would look down on him.

This remains one of my favorite ERB of all time, and i quote it endlessly. Something I don't see anyone mentioning is how every single verse is insulting Michael Bay until he shows up. Spielberg called him a schlep, Hitchcock indrectly insulted him by mentioning Transformers, which Bay directed, Tarantino mentioned sellout bullshit Bay would do, and Kubrick called TMNT a waste of potential. (Bay has a producer credit for that.)

Indeed, great lines and jokes, flow is great along with the beat/instrumental, characters are memorable. Best battle by far, my favorite one too, followed by Zeus V Thor, Steve V Bill, Philosopher's battle, and Artist V TMNT,

Well I think it’s about 2001: A Space Odyssey, but I like that you have a conspiracy theory for the conspiracy theory that’s actually awesome haha . Man if I had to rank the MOST impactful movies Kubrick made in terms of permanently changing filmography it would probably be 2001 and then The Shining for all of the new camera techniques he designed & his set design which by far outdid any set before Shining. Probably still does. Ooooh, that and Hereditary, what an amazing set design that was & how they incorporated the set into the story in MULTOPLE LAYERS *just* like her miniature model making is layered and every aspect of that movie is about layers--so cool. Kubrick would have loved that movie …

I mean, the acting in the ERBs are often over the top. But that Kubrick part. Man. It IS him. So on point. And those eyes that manage to tell "i'm sad, because the world will never be as perfect as i want it to be". That acting is spectacular.

You know what? I fuckin' LOVE the costume for all these. The beats are good, the rhyme's are clever and the set and costume is on point. I think that ERB is one of the best pieces of internet content in history and I sincerely hope it's remembered with reverence.

He did actually have something to say about suspense that relates to that. If I recall one of his famous quotes is, “If there was a bomb about to explode it’s not necessarily the boom that’s scary but the anticipation of it.” I’m paraphrasing but you get the idea.
