Snow Day had a LOT of very subtle storytelling in it if you know the show: - Pearl was traumatized by shapeshifting ever since the memories seen in A Single Pale Rose were formed - Amethyst and Pearl used to Only Fuse In Deadly Situations - Garnet used to only *unfuse* extremely rarely. Always afraid that, if Ruby and Sapphire weren't Garnet, they'd lose each other somehow. - Alexandrite used to be fairly unstable, only kept together by a common goal, since being her is very confusing if you don't have something to focus on. Same, really, with Opal. It's totally fanservice on the surface, but there's *plenty* of depth to dig through if you just look for it!

But to me these people are missing the point. The CGs did treat Steven like a child, yes. But, it was for wildly different reasons, and they even did something that the diamonds could never do for pink: apologize.

In other news, the Wiki says that Steven is 17 as of Snow Day (his B-Day is in August). I'm extrapolating, but that also means there's a good chance Connie is now 16, given Steven is 1 1/4 years older than her.

Snow Day made me feel so sad, I mean it's cool and all that Steven is growing up but he can at least have some fun :'( but also, Steven got so much taller I honestly though he just grew a neck lol I'm happy Pearl was finally able to shapeshift, just shows how much she's grown and I love it. I loved the snow episodes because not only it was a throwback/callback of first season episodes, it was also mirroring Steven not understanding the Gems and trying his best to connect with them. Taking into account that everything probably feels like it happens too quickly (after all, they don't die unless they're shattered), it was a very beautiful episode. To see a reversal of roles, the progression of "the classic you was more fun!" to "you're growing up, and we love you all the same" brought some tears to my eyes. Also, Lapis Disney Princess. Period. That's it.

These episodes were so great and even though some people are saying snow day was “filler”, I think it’s an important episode. It was totally a fan art episode and it was great. You’re right that the fusions miss “classic” Steven too. A lot of them didn’t show up when the big fights were happening and so when they get a chance to come out, I’m sure they miss the Steven of yesteryear. The second episode of this block was also important but for Lapis. The whole episode shows how far she has come in her own journey, including through her personal trauma, while letting her take the lead (as you said).

I remember expecting a fusion, and then when they didn't I remembered lapis probably has some seriously deep baggage with fusing in general. So it would be a lot to ask for her to fuse right now. Eventually I'd love her to have a healthier experience with fusing but I did love her trying it steven's way, and then just doing it her way (and she is seriously badass) I just love all the characters. Also they had that picture of Cat steven because they just really love their cat XD I know it's been ages since you've seen this but those were some of my favorite moments. These episodes have really made me feel things I haven't felt in a while about getting older. I love seeing this whole world grow and change, but at the same time... Man it hurts. Snow day really got me too. Like, I expected Steven to grow up and change, but seeing him turn down things that made him so happy and that he tried so hard to get the gems to enjoy... Dang. I don't know what else to say because you kind of said it all. I was super glad that cat Steven was still alive. I'm also wondering what is going to be covered in the next two episodes. We still have three characters from the opening that haven't shown up yet. I know what episode the cactus one is going to be in, but that leaves two very big ones. That worm thing and white diamond... Can something like that really be covered in a 15 minute episode? Also, since it said this was going to be a limited series, are the next two episodes going to be it? I was thinking limited meant like one season, but 10 episodes is not a season to me. However, I've noticed many people seem to believe that there will only be 10 episodes and it's permanently done. I don't know if that's been confirmed (I'm kind of afraid to see if that's been confirmed). If the next two upcoming episodes are the very last episodes... Well, I don't think I'm emotionally ready for that if that's the case. XD

The game Katamari Damacy has some music you might like to react to. That soundtrack has a lot of good styles and i really want people to talk about that music more. If you want a show the anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt has really good music as well. This anime is not for kids. The music is really good. I love both of these soundtracks. For Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt a poplar song is We are Angels [Anarchy] by D City Rock. As for Katamari Damacy Lonely Rolling Star is one of the songs i love the most. Or Que Sera Sera. But both soundtracks have a lot of good to them. Just keep in mind Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is for adults so some of it's music is a bit dirty. That anime was also a bit dirty overall. Nothing to bad i just warn people it was not aimed at kids.
