I don't know about your personal opinion but from watching the whole season episode 4 is the peak, episode 8, 11 and 12 are also great but those are all i could really stomach from this show

Remeber that we are seeing Pink arc in reverse... Like, hiting her pearl was veeeery in the past. She was a regular diamond back then, the others used to literally kill other gems... She turned herself in a better person later in her life

It's funny (not really) that Pearl and Volleyball bonded and fused over a shared trauma from a same person. And for a long time I've been calling their fusion ‘Mega Pearl’ until the soundtrack release; the music score being played during their escape is named ‘Prince Pearl’. Great reaction, as always. Even though we see Pink/Rose's character arc in reverse, it's still perfectly valid to not like her for the things she did and baggage left behind.

It’s both funny and sad to me that the other Diamonds somehow didn’t realize that “Rose Quartz” sounded exactly like Pink, despite Rose Quartzes not sounding like Pink at all

As they said, it was confirmed the Diamonds never actually met the Crystal Gems. Blue left in her Palanquin before Rose met Garnet for the first time, and they never left Homeworld because they didn't think she was a threat. Once they heard Pink had been shattered, they launched their attack to just eradicate the Earth.

You also have to remember that Pearl actual changed how she looked while with Rose compared to when she was with Pink. Her outfit is more of a leotard while rebelling with Rose Quartz while when she was around Pink Diamond she had a poofy skirt. "A Rose Quartz with the power to heal gems and a renegade Pearl-"

I know it sounds wrong but I think that that incident was a necessary evil. What do I mean by that? Well, Pink used to be a bratty, selfish goofball. When she accidentally hurt Volleyball after one of her many tantrums, and White took her away from her, and gave her another (our) Pearl, in a “Don’t broke this one, too” tone, that was the moment Pink felt guilt for the first time. I think this is also one of the reasons why Pearl’s feelings for her were unrequited. Pink probably thought she didn’t deserve that love.

exactly! people keep missing the point of this. every time a new bad thing is revealed people immediately jump to "oh wow she SUCKS and is evil and bad" like no??? stuff like this just goes to show how much she changed and became better. the rose that gave birth to steven would never have done the things pink did to volleyball and spinel.

She was sent into prison for “Money Laundering” (which in itself is a minor crime compared to Murder or Cooking Drugs) ONE TIME, and she’s labeled as “someone you can’t trust” FOR LIFE!

I feel like I have learn something from ep 4, it's like parent and child, if parents are having an argument, it can affect the child (psychologically), same case for Pink Pearl and Pink Diamond, even if Pink Diamond didn't mean to do it, it can still affect the child

i still love rose because of how complicated her character is and how much she's change. yes, the stuff she did 8 thousand years ago was real shitty, but over those 8 thousand years she really did try to become a better person. i can't see the rose that gave birth to steven doing any of that awful stuff. despite the abuse she endured from the diamonds (yes, she was abused, this is addressed in diamond days), and despite starting out as a little brat who couldn't control her anger and made reckless decisions, she became a wise and thoughtful and truly kind person.

I haven't revisited a lot of these Future episodes in a while, I forgot how hard the "I never stopped hurting" line hit. Also I love that they purposely don't show whether or not Volleyball's eye healed, leaving it up to the viewer.

What did the Pink Diamond cause? She broke her Pearl and had to get a replacement. She left Spinel alone for six thousand years. She started a war. She made all the Roses get stuck in bubbles. She caused a Depression in the Blue Diamond. She put the Bismuth in a bubble and didn't tell anyone. She lied to all her friends and allies. She left a huge burden on Steven. I hate Pink Diamond, the real villain!

i think you missed the point of everything about her character. all those things that happened was in her past. she regretted the pain she caused and strived to do better. she isn't a villain, but she also isn't a perfect hero. the whole point of steven universe is that no one is truly evil. also i don't think it's fair to blame blue diamond's depression on rose. blue diamond CLEARLY abused her, and this is admitted by blue herself. rose owes her nothing. look, it's fine not to like her, but calling her a villain misses the whole message the show is trying to convey.

also, the burden on steven was circumstance. he was always going to have that burden. yeah, it sucks, but the only other option is him just never having been born, because he can only exist if rose disappears. and as bad as steven can have it, him being alive is a good thing.

You’re wrong. Pink isn’t a villain, just a complicated person. To be clear, she comes from an abusive home (so the Diamonds were to blame for driving Pink to do questionable things). And if I recall correctly (which I do because I have a good memory), Pink never asked nor wanted Steven to fix her mistakes. She just wanted he lives his own life as a human being (Does the VHS ring some bells in your brain?). The whole turning Steven into “the Savior of The Universe”and “the Underpayed, with No Degree Therapist of Beautiful, Emotionally Unstable, Alien Amazons” was ALL the Crystal Gems’ fault. And by the time they admit what their immaturity and initial unwillingness to accept Steven as his own person rather than a Rose’s copycat have led to (don’t worry Jones, you’ll see it and it’s gonna be cathartic), it’s too late.

I politely disagree with Lucas and agree with the other two. Pink, even though she was Diamond was never treated the same as her sisters. She was looked upon as a child with little to no respect. It’s ironic that this lead her to discover new life choices and growth. She was able to think of herself and liberate others because she was left to her own accord. Had she been like the other diamonds then the gems would still be enslaved to date. Also, we all make mistakes when we are younger then grow and change with the wisdom of time.

On the Pearls episode, I wouldn't say they forgave Rose, more that with them now having the full picture of the early Pink Diamond and her later Rose personalities, they better got a picture of her and came to terms with everything about her, the good, the bad and the neutral.

I wish they explained better about our pearl, we know she was given to Pink after she broke Pink Pearl, but my theory is that Pearl was White Diamond's Pearl because she is a "Standard" Pearl, and White is like the "Stardand" diamond so it makes sense, even Pearls colors are the same mix as a pearl in nature just like the white diamond is in real like just a Diamond with no color, Rebecca left some plots behind, that makes me sad and needing a new series

I believe its been stated that White played a part in the creation of all Pearls and that Pearl(both of them) was made specifically for Pink. I can't remember if this part has been stated too or was just a pop fan theory but, I think White knew that Pink Pearl was too much like Pink(they encouraged each others... playful nature which White obvi didnt like.) So after White took away her first Pearl, White modeled our Pearl after herself. A Pearl that would be more formal and less playful. A gem who could better reign in or manage Pinks Nature.
