The more you try to fix people, the more people expect you to fix them, and then leave when you're not 'doing your job' as their friend. As such I kept my friends that stuck around, but if anyone has a problem I'm there to support them and listen but I won't try to work for solutions unless they specifically ask me to, and even THEN I'll tell them twice I'm not a qualified professional so to take my personal opinion wisely. And if things get worse and they blame me for their mistakes? I just cut them off lol

I cut off the people who used me as a baggage dump but left me the second I needed support. people care, I just don't know to ask for support anymore. I liked the Lapis episode, but the whole situation could’ve been solved if Steven wasn’t so bad at communicating. He starts with “you don’t have to terraform, you can do whatever you like”, alright, not bad, but when they say “terraforming is what we like doing” he fumbles hard. “You can do whatever you want, except terraforming” sounds like you’re arbitrarily telling them not to do something. Of course they don’t listen. Maybe if you had said “you can do whatever you want, *as long as it’s not hurting anything*”, they might’ve understood why you didn’t want them terraforming, and it wasn’t specifically them you had a problem with, but anyone hurting things. Or if you really want a solution, maybe “you can terraform all you want, just not on planets that already have things living on them.”

Steven Universe in Future specifically is THE most relatable character in all of fiction. When I first watched Future, I cried my eyes out because I really did relate to Steven, specifically how he told everyone he was fine in order for them to stop worrying, putting others in front of himself, and also worrying that he no longer has a reason to exist (he’s done some of these in the Og show but it isn’t NEARLY as upfront). I’m pretty sure that doing this role, Steven’s voice actor ‘got’ or ‘manifested’ or whatever depression and anxiety, as he did OG Steven’s voice at a young age or something???? Idk.
