I thought it was from rose/pink diamond’s view to steven. About how he was so thoughtful while she had to fake her own shattering. She was proud of steven for him helping save the universe, something she could not finish. Now that SUF is over, people are saying its from steven’s perspective. I like how everyone interprets it in there own way! Its nice to see what other people thought.

I always associated this song with my mom. I have always seen her as such a strong person, never giving up, even when my dad took us away from her. Shes always stuck with us, and put us first, even in her worst of worst spots, no matter what happens to her, and no matter what happens to us, she'll always be there. And I still to this day, admire her so much for her strength, and always wonder, could I ever learn how to love...like her?

As Rebecca said, Since the very beginning, I saw the Rose singing 'Love Like You' for Steven. I imagined Rose singing, feeling, imagining what it was like to love someone like how humans do. Even thought she wasn't present, she was still there, a part of him, his emotions, his feelings. Rose was the one singing it for Steven but for me, the lyrics was made for Steven towards his mother, Rose. I mean no one really told Steven about Rose, only the part that she was this amazing war hero and that she loved him very much and then he had to find everything out for himself for the following years. Just from the title 'love Like You' its feels like Steven was trying so hard to find, understand and connect with Rose just like Rebecca was searching for a deeper connection. - I'm just reminiscing about the good old days

I always saw it as Rose/Pink Diamond singing about her point of view of the crystal gems, home world gems and their love for her. she as a diamond is just loved for being "flawless" and as Rose is loved for being "flawed" so to her she has no idea what anyone actually "loves" about her. She's (from her point of view) a awful person who started a war, got countless gems killed, faked her death, then lost said war, put her closest friend into a life of secrecy, kept even more secrets from the only other three war survivors, then at the very end abandons them to create a human/gem hybrid. I was always sold on the idea that the song is sung by Rose/Pink in Steven's gem watching from inside it as the events unfold learning what they actually loved about her so she in turn through Steven can love them back.

I think it’s Connie who is singing it, or maybe, we’ll, it doesn’t matter who is singing it, it’s about tons of people in the real world and in the show, it could be Connie singing about Steven, or ruby singing about sapphire, Greg about rose, amethyst to pearl(maybe), Lars to Sadie, lapis to peridot, so many characters it applies to, you could even apply it to the diamonds, the show is truly focused on forms of love and relationships, good relationships, and bad relationships, family or friendships, it’s truly a show about relationships, and it pulled it off nicely, thnx Rebecca for an awesome show, it was so inspiring and I wish it didn’t have to end, but I’m getting the feeling that times reaching near, I don’t wanna let go of it but I hope that the next generation is introduced to a show like Steven universe that isn’t just a bunch of potty junks and random crap thrown into one aimed at dumb kids to keep them dumb, this show was beautiful, I know Rebecca won’t see this, but it’s more of an unaimed statement, it’s merely me just typing to type and express.

I really thought it was Steven think about how everyone wants him to be like rose and it shows his feeling about how They loved rose and they love Steven, but Steven can’t find the love to give back, and he tries to compensate for that by being extroverted. And he doesn’t know why he is so special. But he does find that soon.

I always thought it was a song about learning to love yourself because someone else does. "I think I'm awful, but you love me, so maybe I'm not so bad after all." The very end of the song even says "I could even learn how to love like you. Love me like you." I think it can apply to a lot of different characters because so many of them struggle with self-worth issues.

I always saw it somewhat the same as she did in the context of losing her confidence. Every gem threw their self worth in question because if the acted outside of their intended purpose, it was seen as some terrible atrocity, even if it was something they'd enjoyed or could be attributed to them being their selves. Love like you to me was being sung by the gems, to steven/rose, people who loved them for who they were and not who they were supposed to be, despite their own traumas making it difficult to understand why. Traumatic events can make self love difficult for some people, so the gems try their best to "do right" by rose/pink because the whole point of the war was because this is what she wanted for them, and they wanted to understand it

I always thought of it as Steven looking up to Rose, trying to live up to her legacy. "If I could begin to be HALF of what you think of me" is Steven trying to be the good son that Rose made him out to be, and wanting to deserve the love everyone gives him. Thats why he loves everyone so much, because he wants to love things they way his mom loved the Earth an him. This can totally go both ways too, with how Rose saw humans, wanting to love them because of how beautiful she thought they were. Also it says " I always though I might be bad now Im sure that its true" is how Rose and the diamonds were going to destroy Earth, and she regrets it so much.

I always imagined it as a duet of Pearl and Pink Diamond/Rose, each of them so perplexed as to how one could love a pearl who is the go-to "replaceable servant" in the hierarchy (especially a diamond doing so), or how one could love pink diamond because shes not perfect and not just out of Diamond admiring that other gems may have done

The biggest thing for me, regardless of who's singing it is that the singer is an unreliable narrator. Because if you look at it, the singer clearly /does/ love the person they're singing to, but they can't recognize that or why they are loved because of the insecurities Sugar mentions. The singer states they'd do anything for the person they love but doesn't think that counts as love enough. And once you see that, then all the self deprecating things they say ("If I could begin to be half of what you think of me", "I always thought I might be bad, now I'm sure that it's true") stand out as suspicious - like maybe they're wrong about that too.
