I REALLY NEEDED TO SEE THIS!! The song is fire! The rasp in her voice and the comfort you can feel it in how she's singing this, in her total element, she gives me some rock vibes but at the same time early 80s like you said, it's just so fitting with her voice and it's one of those songs where it's repeated over and over and over and still SOUNDS AWESOME

You totally nailed the Stevie Nicks influence! This song was inspired by Edge Of Seventeen and even samples it! Miley actually ran the song by Stevie herself to get her blessing before releasing it. Your reaction was EXACTLY like mine when I first heard this song lol -- I was in SHOCK! I'd never really liked Miley's voice or her lyrics in the past, but after the throat surgery she talked about in her episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, her voice is now PERFECT for that rock rasp. And I am all of a sudden *living* for it! Her latest drop, a cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", is INsane. I'm a full-on Miley fan now.

Her vocals are fucking incredible on this song, both on the recording and in the live versions she's done. I'm so excited for this album. She did say this was probably the most "pop-sounding" song on the new record, but honestly, even without the pop elements, she just fucking slayed this.

Miley will release an album in this style as soon as she can get on stage again and perform in front op crowds. Her record is about partying, getting sweaty and dancing to the songs. Similar to this. According to Miley the record is as modern as Dua Lipa, but also Like Billy Idol. Both of them are confirmed as Collab for the album. Inspirations are obviously Stevie Nicks and Blondie, but also Britney, Metallica and more. There's a lot to expect from the SHE IS MILEY CYRUS era. She's done some covers recently like Maneater, where you can clearly see her new style. You should check it out. She's a fucking Rockstar
