i don’t think that i ever heard such a thing as a “bad song” from bts, they really have an amazing discography so feel free to check any of their albums or eps but, map of the soul: 7, is the album they released in february, this year and although is kinda long (22 songs) is the compilation of their previous album, map of the soul: persona, and a few new songs so you probably want to check that out. anyway, thank you for appreciating the member’s work and talent, i hope that you have a great time listening to them

I agree about no "bad songs". for my own fun, I rated all of their songs including the BTS world ones and I'm not had anything under 6/10 with most 8 or above. They have great hooks and emotional delivery appropriate to the song. The full range of genre means that I listen to bts 90% of the time and don't get tired. The only song that I don't really count which I think is quite shocking is On feat Sia. Not my cuppa tea at all.

Technically it was his mixed voice that was being commented on for the most part. His mixed voice is very unique. A great example of his head voice is both his high part with V in Life Goes On, and his line from Blue And Grey: "Oh this ground feels so heavier, I am singing by myself."

Some information about the songs: - The guide for Blue & Grey was a tack that V wrote planing to include it in his incoming mixtape. The original lyrics were in English, they translated them to Korean and produced the track more. At some moment he was feeling burned out/exhausted and he wrote those feelings down, the idea is to encourage people to allow themselves to feel thier sadness, when they need to, but also keep pushing through those bad moments. - The guide for Telepathy was written by Suga. He wasn't going to submit this track in particular, but Jimin liked it a lot and persuaded him to submit it for BE. - Dis-ease was produced by J Hope. It's probably the most dynamic and experimental track in the album. It's about the contradictory feelings he had during quarantine, in relation to having less work load at first and being forced to rest or stay at home more. (Excuse my bluntness, but it basically describes being a workaholic. I can relate lol) - The bridge of Dis-ease was composed by Jimin, as an improvisation, in around 3-5 mins, when they were recording the song. - Stay was written by Jungkook, originally for his incoming mixtape. They decided to include it on BE instead. (You can hear his taste on songs he has produced, he likes mainstream pop, edm and r&b a lot.) - Stay and Telepathy have similar topics, about how we're all still connected in spite of the circumstances, about wishing to meet their fans and loved ones again and celebrate together, once the pandemic ends. - Life Goes On concept is the base of this album, that's why it's title track. The message of keeping in mind how time passes and change is inevitable... It's what they thought would help people the most right now. What they needed to hear the most. Main producer of the song is PDdogg, he's an old Big Hit producer and one of BTS mentors. - Jungkook directed the music video for Life Goes On. He also recorded part of the video footage. (Most likely with one of his personal hand-held cameras, but maybe we will confirm if that's true if they release behind the scenes.) - The MV has scenes recorded in BTS real appartement (living room and the room Jimin shares with J Hope). The scene at the end was recorded after their online concert finished, in that same venue, the lights are ARMY bombs (fans light sticks) on every seat, to represent them. - Dynamite was written and produced by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar. They sent the demo to BTS, the boys liked it how it was, and they decided to release it while they were recording the new album, because they thought it was perfect to help uplift people's spirits during the pandemic. - Fly to my Room was produced by Cosmo’s Midnight. The idea is very straightforward, about how we can use our imagination and search for comfort in places or people who feel like home, as a copping mechanism/safe place. - BTS members were very involved in the production of this albums, from start to finish. Specially composition and lyrics. They're usually involved with the music, but this time they also directed the photoshoot concepts, the production of the music video for Life Goes On, the packaging, and more. - BE is how they decided to invest their time when their world tour was postponed due to the global pandemic. In other words, the context is the idea of comforting people during quarantine and express some of their feelings/thoughts in the current circumstances. - BTS members documented the production process of BE... There are videos/blogs about them discussing the concept of the album, buying cameras to shoot photos themselves, they curated individual rooms with their personal style for the photoshoot, they released a lot of content about the entire process. It's very cool and interesting to have bee allowed to experience part of all this with an artist.

Just a correction, the bridge of Dis-ease was a collaboration but composed mostly by Jimin and Joon which they clearly say in their v-live. Jimin then says his part took all of 3-4 minutes before he handed it off to Jungkook (who ended up not having his part used). But they clearly say the bridge was a Jimin/Joon collab. I know it spread like wildfire so quick that it's hard to correct now but Joon does deserve his credit on that too.

Thank you for appreciating their lyrics!!! BTS, even now, are still so under appreciated. Somehow that language barrier and the label "boy-band" that Western media attach to them, prevents people to take the time to look at lyric translations to their songs. They are artists, co-writing lyrics, co-composing and co-producing their songs. They came from very humble beginnings (their label company was an outsider, very small and almost went bankrupt), made it through all kinds of hardships (getting their performances cut from tv shows, not getting invited, being looked down upon, etc), kept making great music at a dizzying pace, kept giving great performances and maintaining a close bond with their fans. Their rags to riches story is very inspiring. But through all the fame and wealth they have now achieved, they still remain the same humble and polite guys like they were when they were poor. The more you learn about them, the more you fall in love with them. And their bond with each other makes me feel so jealous. I just wanna hang out with them, I bet there wont ever be a dull moment in life with such friends as the BTS members. I can't say what my favorite album is, it depends on my mood. They have such an extensive discography that spans so many genres. Although I love their title tracks, surprisingly most of my most favorite songs are "B-sides".

Thank you so much for listening to their new album BE!! I am happy that you liked it as much as you did! I can totally agree with your statement that BTS' lyricism is majorly underrated. They can come up with such clever rhymes and ideas that really carry meaning and is very relatable to so many people. Regarding the skit... ARMY were /are still streaming the full album without any skips with motivation for better chart positions. But also I've come to enjoy listening to it when it comes on. I basically have the translation roughly memorizes and can follow along on the conversation they're having :D we are very proud of them for achieving that #1 on the BB Hot 100 chart!! It's something that people made fun of by saying that BTS and ARMY were delulu for having such a dream and that it was unrealistic and unreachable. But look where we are now! BTS have had three number ones on the Hot 100 in the time span of three months (Dynamite, Savage Love Remix with BTS and Life Goes On). And on top of that they've been nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Duo / Group Performance. I guess the lesson here is to never belittle or underestimate someone's dream!

Jin, a member of BTS, just released a song called Abyss that's about his own experience with Burnout and how he didn't think he deserved all the praise he was getting. You should check it out when you get a chance!

The way I literally subscribed when u said you'd check out more BTS (idc if it takes a while, but pls do! Pretty pls)😭💜💜 Tbh as an ARMY, idc if someone doesn't like BTS's music. It's okay, I know most ARMYs are like that, we simply want BTS to be treated with respect and for them to be recognized as artists in a genuine way. Not hated simply bcs they're korean or bcs they "look like girls". Finally, someone who reacts to their album with an open mind, checking out their amazing lyrics. Their lyrics and personalities is what made me an ARMY. Everything they do behind cameras, the charities, the donations, the speeches... they're really inspirational. Well, I'm ranting now but THANK YOU for giving them a chance. Honestly I can't pick a favorite album lmao, but I'll say "WINGS" (2016) simply bcs it was my introduction to BTS and the first time they each got an individual track, so this album was quite deep and "dark" for them at the time. I'd also say "You Never Walk Alone" simply bcs it's basically "WINGS" (it was a repackage) but with other new tracks, so it's a win-win album for me. Pls check out more BTS, and again, THANK YOU so much for this 💜💜

they have said it is one of the most personal albums yet. the members were especially very much involved in this particular album because previously it has only been certain members but in this, all of them played major roles. they even shared their whole procedure of making the album with us through livestreams etc. plus, not only from the music making procedure, they also contributed hugely to the visual aspect of the album from its design to the making of the music video. i hope you react to their MOTS:7 album too.

You were spot on with your comments about everything! From the messages of the songs to the personality and connection between the members and ARMY, wow! If your favorite song was dis-ease you have to listen to J-hope's solo mixtape "hope world"- he produced this song and since I first heard it I thought it would fit perfectly in hope world.. he has this very signature, 90's, style to his music, when you hear a song he worked on you can blindly notice that it's his song.. I would also love to see you react to "map of the soul: 7", it was released only at the start of the year, it's a longer album but every member has a solo song so you get to hear a lot from each of them and figure out their own style.. I think it's their most diverse album in terms of style but very cohesive in the lyrics- it tells the story of their friendship, their bond, their love and hate relationship with their work and fame, and their 7 years as a group (hence the title- map of the soul:7) it's really rare to see artists so openly talking about their struggles and yet so appreciative of everything that they have, and this is so far from the typical "boyband" lyrics..

I think you hit the nail on the head actually: Besides them just being really excellent singers and performers and lyricists, part of the reason I like BTS so much is that their body of work really does feel very much like a conversation with their fans. Not just necessarily even in like the more obvious 'We miss you, we care about you' kind of way (though that certainly is always nice as well), but also just in that it always feels like they are being really honest about where their heads are at and what they are feeling. They're constantly building up their listeners with positive messages, but they don't shy away when they themselves are not feeling at their best. It's very humanizing, and it just *feels* different than a lot of bands I've enjoyed in the past. It's like... you can enjoy something listening passively, but when you feel like you're being brought in and acknowledged in a way by a group of people you respect it's a whole different experience. You look forward to seeing them succeed and feel proud of them when they do, because you know how hard they've worked for it and you feel like you are going along for the ride. I'm probably explaining this poorly lol but it is definitely a really unique experience and I'm always excited to see more people giving them a chance. Not to mention their songs are just really REALLY good hahaha

Another thought. I'm 56 years old and I have liked a lot of artist throughout my life. I know they are good. But never in my life I've found someone that I admire as an artist, but also as a human being so much. I feel so related to them. It may seem odd but for me they are like family or close friends. I feel their success as mine and I'm happy if they are happy, sad if they are sad, I get angry if someone attack them and very grateful for people, like you, that appreciate them. I'm going to be faithful to them all the way and more.

The high notes that you were loving in fly to my room is a mixture of Jimin & Taehyung (V) mostly Jimin, Suga has an alter ego named Agust D that he’s released 2 mixtapes under that I think you’d love! He’s not the “‘main guy” RM, Suga & J-hope all are the “rap line” and all have a pretty R&B style! All the members took a big part in writing & producing this album, jungkook directed the music video, and tae directed the visuals for the album! So this is their art through & through 🤍

You won't regret getting into BTS because they're always spreading a positive message, telling us to love ourselves, etc. I feel like even if they're such a popular group their discography is underrated. They mix a lot of genres and topics in their song. It's truly amazing. You're gonna love them, I promise.

If you haven’t, you should check out their Map of the Soul 7 album! It is their take on Carl Jung’s theory of self individuation moving from the Persona (outer self) through the Shadow (inner/darker self) to the Ego (true self). It blew my mind & is my favorite album not just of theirs, but period, full stop. You are 100% correct that they sound & look great but when you add in their lyricism, they are unmatched.

Hello! :) I loved your reaction and analysis. I definitely feel like you're one of the most genuine reactors out there, so thank you very much for choosing to do this! That higher voice that you've pointed out like 3 times is Jimin. When it comes to the lyrics and production of this album, BTS said that this is the most they've ever been involved in a creation of an album and I think it shows. However, from what I know, the rappers (RM, Suga and J-Hope) have always written the verses that they rap in songs and they are HEAVILY involved in the production aspect (they also produce their own mixtapes). Their label (BigHit Entertainment) is all for creating a space for artistic freedom, so BTS is not really restricted in terms of creating music. I think it's just that not every song the members create is included in an album (tho they do release some demos/covers/original songs on Soundcloud for fans to enjoy). I can see that you're committed to reacting to their lyrics, so I feel like I have to let you know that easily the BEST source of BTS' songs' translations is "DOOLSET LYRICS" website (just type it in Google search). The creator(s?) provides the writing/production credits, notes from BTS attached to the songs (if there are any), very accurate translations and cultural context for some of the lyrics (which is sometimes very important in fully understanding and appreciating the meaning behind the song). I think that most of the ARMYs agree that their "Wings" album is their best one ever, and for the most part I agree, but I also LOVE their "Map Of The Soul: 7" (2020) album. Please keep in mind that they release some of their albums in series which revolve around a certain concept (so, for example, they have "Map of the Soul: Persona" (2019) and "Map of the Soul: 7" (2020) - these two albums are connected as they share some of the songs and they are both heavily inspired by the concepts of Jungian psychology from the book "Jung's Map of the Soul: An Introduction") I REALLY tried not to write an essay, but it happened so I'm sorry. Just know that I DID try lol. I hope I helped at least a little bit. You can't imagine how happy I am you're reacting to this group! I literally froze when I saw the notification. Thank you. I hope you'll have a great day! :) PS. When you said something about "temporary fix", my brain just immediately started playing "Temporary Fix" by 1D, lmao PPS. Your fashion is very on point. Props!

Jimin Does the Falsetto. He wrote the bridge in Dis-ease.
@erume57763 жыл бұрын
all 7 members takes part in producing, composing and writing lyrics. if you look at the old days, it's definately more the rap line (RM, Suga, J-Hope), but in the last years vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) are catching up to them. for ex, Blue & Grey was supposed to be in V's solo project, same as Stay was a tittle track to Jungkook's (nothing controversy though, it's usual for them to share music they write with each other, they've been doing this for 7 years :) and Jimin wrote the bridge in Dis-ease in 3-4 minutes. we are all excited while waiting for the vocal line's first mixtapes, which will luckily come out in the next year or two (if explanation is needed: the bts discography is written by BTS members and in-house BigHit producers, it consist of songs with all 7 members, song with subunits like just 2-4 of them and solo songs that are still under the name of BTS. and beside that they have their solo projects that are done by each member on their own, it allows them to express things they can't include in the group project. i think it's quite a healthy way of creating art when there's 7 of you)
