This country is quick to throw things out. I'm sure the new boilers are more efficient but the old boiler lasted and is still going 10 years longer than the plumber recommended changing it!! @erikj.20668 жыл бұрын
OSV stands for oil safety valve. The OSV won't allow oil to flow out of the tank unless the pump is pulling a vacuum on it. It prevents oil spills from the copper lines that have been eaten up due to direct contact with concrete.

@FFred-us9tw4 жыл бұрын
No regulations say you cant apply dope to the THREADS of a flare fitting. It will not cause any harm and is done by lots of pros on unions as well to prevent galling and binding.
@joepiol51054 жыл бұрын
@@FFred-us9tw If the reason to apply gunk (thread dope, in this case) to the threads of a flare fitting is to provide some lubrication, there are other ways to do it that won't make such a mess, won't waste dope, won't make the job look so unprofessional, and won't make future service more difficult. A little bit of grease, motor oil or fuel oil will do it, if it is even necessary to lubricate the threads, which should not be necessary at all. If the threads are a little rough, there is a super special tool that can be used to tighten the nut. It's called a wrench.
