Best teacher I've ever had. Very good balance between straight forward and informative. Plus, I've improved a TON following his teachings. I highly recommend his courses!

For you as an artist away from teaching, do you like drawing from patterns or directly from imagination?
@prachetasnayse97094 ай бұрын
I don’t think you understand what drawing from imagination really is 💀
@TpDgreat4 ай бұрын
dont draw from imagination, its not imagination its memory atleast for me,, so you have to start with reference first right? how can you draw a hawk or a wrestler if you dont know what a hawk or a wrestle looks like, you might have some images on your head but its blurry, now with reference its clear then you gonna collect those datas. now after youve drawn hawks and wrestlers many times, different wrestling moves different angles of hawks. thats when the "imagination" comes in - oh how about i draw a wrestler with a hawk head or wings! but can you see its memory right? you now have ideas what a hawk looks like u might still use reference but its kinda easier bcuz u collected the ideas and images in your brain library XD. i think im off topic here, but my point is your favorite artist didnt come up with imaginations, they gather lots of references and mixed it together. the mixing part is like the imagination part :)

@@TpDgreat What I find intersting is that in every field of art, this is true. What we call imagination is actually just memory + an intention to mix things together. When people write a book for exemple, they don't invent things out of of nowhere : they dig into their pasts, things they've read, movies they've watched, conversations they've had. It's all just memory in the end.

Could you make a simplified anatomy for the body? It would be very useful. Im searching in your channel but I guess some videos were deleted idk.
@TpDgreat4 ай бұрын
ill give you 2 :) check these shows Invincible > simple lines,anatomy,costumes and shadings ,really most of invincible characters costumes is already their anatomy. if you want fantasy genre go for The legend of Vox Machina :) avatar the last airbender is a great example too

I always do wonder if head methods hold people back in learning how to draw them. They personally held me back because they were taught as the “exclusive” method back then. In my opinion, I think people should experiment rather than get comfortable with one head method. Besides, at least it won’t result in the nightmare of nonstop Loomis heads throughout my old sketchbooks. I’d rather move onto a much friendlier face. ;)
@TpDgreat4 ай бұрын
you are right some of those guide or tutorials that tells you, you have to draw skulls learn how a skull works is stupid sure that could be their thing their genre but its not what you want and what u need all you need is reference from your favorite artist. reference first for gathering ideas and images to install into your brain library. im glad you did the right thing. if you want friendlier faces, which i assume is anime faces? cartoon faces? go for it,, dont go there practicing realistic,,semi realistic heads,,legs that has super detailed muscle location etc etc. because u will not draw those in the first place. but sure you can pursue those if you feel the need to apply it into your art. :)
