There's something to be said - from a learning experience - to just watch...observe...absorb. As an instrument-rated pilot working on his commercial, these videos are really great at letting us experience the national air space system, ATC and more in a variety of scenarios. Thanks Steveo! I know making these videos - prepping the cameras, the editing afterwards, etc. involves work - appreciate it!!

Regarding "Coffee Time." I was flying on a 450 miles cross country a few years ago. I did my usual predepature routine, (bathroom), and took off. Apparently there was some residual coffee/diet coke hanging out in the vascular system. In flight the kidneys took care of the fluid volume and deposited the excess into my bladder tank. At 225 miles short of the destination the warning lights started going off on the panel in my head. At 150 miles I was faced with a full biological emergency. Being the ace of the base pilot I am... procedures were followed... seat belt little loose, belt loosened, belt undone, pants unbuttoned and zipper down a little. No way I could make it to the destination. Had to make a biological emergency landing. As I taxied... QUICKLY... to the gas pumps, (might as well fill er up). I had a spot picked out behind that hanger there just in case the FBO was closed. I literally ran to the bathroom. Now I restrict myself a couple hours before departure too. Love your videos. Not just entertaining but also educational. Thanks!!

We got caught in a "stop-and-go" traffic jam. Hi Stevo, I mimick every one of your flights with the Garmin PC trainer. I research your exact coordinates at the departure location, copy IFR clearances, taxi instructions and I fly the entire flight side by side with your video right down to the arrival, approach and shutdown. Each video takes several hours and many replays to get it right. Toughest part is figuring out where you edited out parts. Lots of good IFR practice. I wonder if anyone else is as nutty as me. Thanks Stevo. Richmond resident here and flightsim novice - REALLY enjoyed the flight and the way you gave such clear and concise explanations of the actions. For my purposes those explanations are invaluable. I actually understood most of them! Though I'm sure I would get flustered and mess them up in real time. But I must be making some progress in my studies. Really stoked my desire to explore aviation further. Love your TBM. How in the world you can understand all the ATC instructions and read it back so quickly is beyond me, lot of practice I guess. Steveo - another great video. Really appreciate your comments and the details you provide all along your flights. You departed from my backyard. I bought a Cherokee, then got my private at age 55 and flew out of Stafford (KRMN) for seven years - just up the road from Richmond. Loved my flying time and put 410 hrs in the log book. Sold the plane at the end of 2018, a year later, the new owner filed a lawsuit against me, the pre-buy company, and 21 mechanics for a claimed missed AD from back in 1998. He filed a complaint with the FAA, and they found "No non-compliance". He persisted with the lawsuit, we went back and forth with legal documents for the next 18 months. Using Flight Aware, I discovered he was flying the so called Unairworthy airplane. When we presented this at a pre-trial arbitration hearing, my side won that hearing - and they finally decided not to go to court. I wanted to actually go to trail, for that was the only way I could ask to be reimbursed for my legal fees. In the end this whole affair cost me $10,300 in legal fees. It has kind of put a sour taste in my mouth for aviation. But, watching your videos reminds me of the good times, and the fun, and the beauty that can only be seen from above. As you said, flying is a magical thing - this is so true. You are truly fortunate to be paid to follow your passion. Perhaps we can meet one day. Safe travels.
